OP, I'm looking at you.

come at me bro, this time it's not a Nyx. good luck trying to catch a Hound in a hisec system.

LOL. y'all need to chill out. "It's iconic"/"new has no soul" isn't a reason why not to remodel it. it's not a reason for anything, actually. it's not like I don't like its current model - in fact, the Rifter is one of the ships that got me into EVE. I love how the Rifter looks and I'm almost in love with the models for the Jaguar and Wolf. but I think they can look better and the same style of aesthetic modifications that the Stabber and Tempest have been through can do good for the Rifter.
I get that you all love the current model of the rifter and get extremely butthurt just over the idea that it will be modified, but you need to grow up and understand that EVE is changing, all the ships are changing, and you can never stop it.

And like it or not, ALL ships in EVE Online will be remodeled, CCP are just taking their sweet time with it. it is inevitable. All i'm suggesting is for CCP to put the Rifter next on the list for remodeling.

tl;dr: calm your ****.

The Rifter hulls is not changing, as many are attached to it and it is still pretty actual.
What it needs is a slight texture update, and a nice performance buff.

your argument is logical.

OP- All the reasons not to remodel the rifter that have been posted that you've shot down as not actual reasons are all valid concerns by what is apparently a majority of the playerbase. This means that CCP will take these opinions into account when considering whether or not to remodel the ship.

As other stated the Rifter is one of the icon of EVE. No matter how ugly is, is not going to change.

The argument "I don't like it, change" is far less relevant than "is an iconic ship".

Buff the Rifter's now rather anemic (compared to the revamped T1 frigates) stats? Yes!
Change the Rifter's iconic model? Hell no!

Remoddeling takes way too much time, engineers on cars also have to just be pushed away at some point. Its fine the way it is, don't spend more effort on it. Spend more time on the future of EVE, station walking and restructuring the skill-system (a tree makes us all exactly alike and is the same system all MMORPG's use), adding PVE that makes sense and structure-shooting that is fun and dynamic, dynamic PVE, a choice in what PVE you do (fex only doing survival missions where wave upon wave comes and it pays out depending on how long you stay there, no damsels in distress).

Consider this- the Rifter is only 'iconic', because for 4+ years it was the only tech one frigate worth regularly flying in PvP.

Now you have a vast selection of T1 frigates to choose from, and the Rifter performs as it looks like Minmatar construction methods are compared to everyone else's.

Subpar.

Rifter is BA! And I don't want my rifter USB hub to not look like an actual rifter anymore.

If you said Breacher, then you would have been on the right track...

The Rifter is 1000x better than a whole host of other ships in the game based on looks alone.

It could look like a Hound minus the torp mounts

Given the pendiing release of the collectors edtion with the Rifter USB hub I am gonna say....rifter is not changing anytime soon looks wise.

Just don't see ccp going yep...we released this here model, lets change the in game ship so it looks nothing like it.

Performance wise rifter is tricky, One could say ccp buffed other frigs to equal out the field a bit. there is a fine line between buffing and powercreeping.

Read again. I said I do like it, so that post is completely irrelevant. And yes I also think it's "iconic" but things change.

you got a point there.

Not even a mountain of negative community feedback stopped CCP from giving the Armageddon a ******** role, nor is it stopping them from modifying the Nosferatu modules which are working fine as-is.

also powercreeping is...?

As long as only the textures are changed and the ship's character remains the same i am fine with it. Next in the queue should be the blackbird, fine ship, howling ugly...

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

My poor Vagabond... Ugh

Believe it or not, I bought a Vagabond after the model update, purely for cosmetics. But, I agree, there IS something lost when your ship no longer looks like a rust bucket. As Han Solo once said, a ship is defined by its flaws, a sleek new ship has no soul, no character. If SOMETHING isn't malfunctioning, making weird noises, or venting smoke and/or atmosphere, then something's wrong with it.

Han Solo never said that. No, Star Wars cannon does not count.

A bad analogy is like a leaky screwdriver.

Rifter doesn't need a remodel. If you are hard up for one, grab a Wolf or Jag and ship spin it to your heart's content.

The Rifter is in the line of Frigates that should be least and last to change for model touch ups. Rifter is quite fine at present.

So many other T1 Frigates in dire need of a remodel. My T1 Frig lineup for rework would be: Crucifier, Bantam, Imicus and Burst. Good to hear they 'were' working on the Crucifier, but that was also said about the (Symmetrical) Imicus as well a few years back during a Fanfest as WIP.
