Note: This sounded good in my head.....lol

Gate Flashing (no, not wagging your naked bits at Warp Gates):

A skill in which a module can send a controlled pulse through a Warp Gate which essentially causes campers on the the other side to be unable to lock onto jumpers for a short amount of time.

Now , I am thinking of 2 negative effects for the initator:

1) The residual radiaton (insert technical jargon) effects those who jump through the gate also....this then involves a stale mate that stops all those within the radious of the gate to be unable to lock onto each other, and at least gives pilots a chance to not be locked on as soon as they come through.

2) To avoid the spamming of these pulses, the gate recallibrates itself and pilots are unable to 'flash' said gate until the cool down period is over.

The skill book can maybe come under hacking? as the pulse could be used from the gates own energy...and the animation for the pulse could be some sort of outwords wave or something like "similar to stargate SG1's gate when it has been activated?)

The skill can be increased to either effect the pulse radious on the otherside (essentially effecting extreme ranges, snipers and cloakers), time taken to activate or maybe the time for pilots to be able to lock.

What do you reckon?

Note - I do get that there will be negative people/trollers, and to them I stick my tongue out and go "pfffffffttttt".

Would be nice to be able to send in a probe into a WH and/or a Jump Gate and get a scan from the other side, depending on skill depends on the errors and ghost results.

Alright then,

What about a super duper weapon that blasts 'no more tears' shampoo through the gate, causing pilots to collapse from the extreme pain of getting the horrible lie'ing stuff in their eyes?!

Who could NOT like Alice? xD

But really, OP, I think what we need is a way that takes your mechanic idea and makes it make more sense. What if you're in an indy, you could eject a few shuttles and have them launched through the gate. It really is a ship being fired through so the campers would see it on the other side along with a gate flash, but no local change.

These dummy ships might give you the distraction you need to get through.

Campers could quickly adapt by removing shuttles from overview so they arent cluttered by dummy ships...but then you can hang around their camp in a shuttle and they wouldnt know unless they checked xD

I am even open to there being a counter measure for this too (for camps) :)

I just want to expand exploration / probing to be inter-system useful :)

The results back won't be accurate, may contain errors or anomolies depending on various facttors.
