New Skill Idea

This is something really missing from the game...

New Skill: Ancient Polymer Fortification
Prerequisite: Thermal Dynamics V
Understanding of ancient materials and pushing them past the limits of modern equipment. Grants a 20% bonus to overheating effectiveness and 20% reduction in heat damage per level to all modules on Tech 3 ships.

This would be a race generic skill, so if you train it for one strategic cruiser, it will benefit all of them, and future T3 ships that will hopefully come out soon to fill some of the clear gaps in the game's current lineup.

HAH nope. Dream on sunshine, T3 is proving enough of a headache for CCP as is without them releasing new ones. As is the line doesn't work as intended.

Why is this needed....All the hulls get an overheating bonus anyway.

Love the new skill idea!! That would really help fix the exploit where occasionally a T3 loses a fight.

I would like to think this was a joke...considering that at level 5 this skill would mean that you take no heat damage at all.

It just a cool way to expand the T3 line of ships and make them viable without having to buy a bunch of officer mods. If you can full-time overheat your mods without taking damage then the T3 platform should have the right level of superiority over the other platforms. Then CCP just needs to add other T3 ships to the game to cover the few areas the current set do not.

To be fair, that 25% bonus is almost meaningless. If it was 50%, it could actually be noticeable
