Instant Corp Quit - Not for new corps?

This devblog says as of May 6 it should be possible to leave a corporation without the 24hr roles cooldown. Being OCD about long corp histories, I want my alt to hop directly from his current corp to a brand new one. He dropped roles, filled in the corp creation form, and received a 24hr cooldown notification. Did I do it wrong by dropping roles first? Did the specific situation of creating a corp directly out of another player corp not get thought of for the change? Is my alt just hated by the hamsters?

Blanking signatures doesn't seem to work, so this is here.

This is really late, but I had the same problem.

But, I kept trying and eventually found a menu under the corp app where I selected myself from the member list, right-clicked and did the quit corp and it did work. I had been a director and had just dropped roles a few minutes beforehand.

It seemed the "quit corp" button on the bottom of the corp app's main tab still gives the 24 hours to drop roles warning and won't let you quit. But, the alternate quit from that member list right click menu did work.
