Heh, I've been a goon for around 4 years now...

Look... NNDASK FD F n M jk m K M LolXLolXLolX <---- i'm posting utter trash and I'm not being put on probation! This is amazing!!! and the best thing about it is, this isn't even FYAD!!

Oh wait, this is the EVE forums, nevermind :(

Anyway, I did think about joining goonswarm, but I'm not sure living in "organized" 0.0 fighting for sov is what I really want to do, like FW and fleet roams... I'm not sure it's really my thing.

One time jumped into a lowsec system in my PvP fit Drake, unluckily I jumped right into a solo badass Brutix who just absolutely annihilated me... I wanna be him!!

Take a frigate/destroyer/cruiser/battlecruiser. Roam around belts, gates and most notably Customs Offices. Learn to d-scan well. Have patience. Learn to recognize bait. Stay on the move. Run when outmatched. Good luck! Pirate

Just finding the undock button frustrates you so much that you log over to WoW, where you can find people at your intellectual level.

Then why don't you just get a tornado? Get an alt for scouting, you can do it, something can be done, its possible to make friends, just kill people maybe chose the ones you want to kill then own them and ask them that you are looking for a corp.

You need to play smart, Thats what you are missing, spend Time doing it and anything is possible.

I knew WoW was coming to this thread, just expected d it would be Ace bringing it. No need to race ahead guys, Ace is perfectly capable of WoWing any thread he is in on his own.

You sir are going wrong on so many levels.

1. Goons members gank **** constantly think about joining them or some other pirate organizaton.
2. FW is nothing like fleet roams. Every bitter eve vet will have at least one large fleet fight they will want to tell their Grandkids about.
3.Flying PVE hulls fit with PVP mods to fight a PVP hull fit with PVP mods. Caldari are not the PVP ships you are looking for.
4. Posting utter bullshit.

Go play eve some more you still have another 87million SP to get until you win.

My pilot is 17million SP almost entirely on PvP skills.
My goal since I started has always been to be a "outlaw" in the game, a pirate... a ganker, a notorious Rancer gatecamper.. etc etc.

Since forever I've been switching back and forth between PvP lowsec/0.0 roaming corps, RvB and Faction Warfare... in other games, mainstream PvP like this would be my focus, but other games are determined by incentive of rank... organized and competitive competition, but this is a sandbox there is no incentive... just do it for the thrill of the moment.

FW is stale.. people plexing for Isk, people roaming around with their friends looking for WT's, and bored neutral gangs roaming for a piece of the entertainment without having to commit themselves (usually hisec PvE carebears taking a break).

RvB is.. just about the lowest form of PvP in the game, usually consists of waiting for other side to aggress before jumping on him and then hoping you can kill him before he is able to dock... no opportunity for tear collection here, no profit to be made, very repetitive and stale.

PvP roaming corps... I have a certain level of respect for the very organized FC's who run these, they do what they do very well... which is command fleets around lowsec and 0.0 looking for other fleets to fight... but that's basically it.

As I switch between these activities... sometimes in my dock I think..
"ok, today is the day I become a pirate, a suicide ganker, a gate camper"....
today is the day I gank somebody hauling 2bil in implants...
today is the day I kill a mission drake daring to jump into a 0.4 system for a mission...

So I leave RvB/FW, appropriately fit my Harbinger... Oracle, Navy Slicer or Legion

*Clicks Undock*...

Ok, so... what now?
I have no "friends to speak of"... no connections with the same goals as me, where do I go from here?...

Hmm well, I've messed up my employment history, the previous owner of my pilot messed up the killboard stats... so I don't really have the option to apply for a like-minded corp...

If I jump into Rancer I'll be killed by a bigger and badder pirate.
I don't have the Alpha of a Tornado so I can't solo gank, nor do I have anybody to loot for me.
I don't have the scouting tool set for scanning down mission runners for mission flipping.
No miners to gank in lowsec.

*Docks up and rejoins Amarr militia*.

sigh

Why do you let your employment history dictate what you can or cannot do? Can you not think for yourself?

Simple application of sending an eve mail or application to a corp goes further than any employment history heh.

If you want to be assertive in your Eve goals, be an assertive player.

This guy doesn't have a clue, particularly in regards to point 3; Caldari ships are just as capable PVP ships as the others. I suggest you head over to C&P, threads asking this very question pop up quite frequently, in fact I believe there's one going right now.

Yup there is.

The only thing I will say with regards to your OP is that the life of a pirate/ganker isn't for everyone. It's not all glamorous excitement, and epic loot drops all the time. There's a lot of watching, waiting, and getting screwed by loot fairies. Some days you'll make mountains of ISK for your efforts, others you'll barely break even (or worse make negative ISK's.) It's the waiting that turns most people off I think. If you don't have a network of people who are also doing the same it can often be quite some time between making those big scores, and it could bore you to tears. That said when you make those big scores you WILL be hooked.

Your expectations of what lowsec PVP corps require are probably much higher than the reality too. I'd say that even the more "strict" ones don't expect much more than a willingness to fight, be able to fit your ships in a capable manner, be self-sufficient, be relatively active. So long as your killboard isn't only losses and you seem to be learning your craft, I expect most pirate/PVP corps will take you in. Finally, the only way you're going to learn and get better is by getting your feet wet and losing ships. Go try and kill things, and DIAF, because eventually it'll start to click and next time it will be you sitting on that gate in your Drake wrecking the newb pirate that just jumped in.

This is what happens when guys buy a toon with millions of pvp skill points. They expect to undock into instant pvp god nirvana and have missed the part where pvp is all about learning how to get fights and making opportunities. If your sandbox goal is to be a Rancer gatecamper, your 17 mill toon is wasted on you.

Do you think the pvp opportunities are stale or are you just getting you arse kicked all the time?
