A scammers main source of income is human stupidity.

sure, thats why they all endup in jail someday...

Oh, its this again.

"Scammers in eve are going to end up in jail"

The part you missed is, the "victims" generally think they are screwing over the scammer, and getting a good deal at someone elses expense, because they missed a few 0s on a contract, or they think "double my isk? FREE ISK...W0000T"

Moral of the story, greed is bad boys and girls.

Ignor him Rhivre, He has another idiot thread up on this subject. He is either a failed Troll, or a 12 yo kiddie who has just had fingers burnt in a scam

Maybe CCP wants us to stop using chat? They want us to turn chat off. They accomplish this by allowing us to get flooded with spam chats. Spam chat drives us to disabling chat. Now we can't say bad things about CCP and Sean Decker in chat anymore, 'cause we all got driven off chat by the spam bots. CCP accomplishes it's goal.

Crazy, eh?

Watch this space.  New exciting signature in development.

I find it very sad that CCP won't deal with the prolific amount of scambots going on in the trade hubs. Someone should start making loads of spambots that spam absolutely nothing useful. I'm pretty sure that would force them to do something about it.

I guess that would be in line with the EvE way of things as well, the playerbase taking things into their own hands.

Personally, i'd vote for constant "CCP, please deal with these spambots!" over and over. Get a couple hundred of those badboys on the go, and we're laughing.

P.S. anyone actually know how they go about making spambots? A link to a tutorial would be handy.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

Isnt it that time of the year again that you post the most common spammers names and who spams the most?

So ban all spam bots and you get an endless chatter containing infinitely useless pseudo wisdom on economics, the end of the world and how to get laid. Who will you be banning then? The economists, the doom sayers or the virgins?

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I'd take them ANY day over the spambots, at least I'd get a fun convo from the doomsayers as opposed the spambots that doesn't reply and keep spamming FULFILLED contracts....

Scamming works, it does make money, but if you want to make the big score don't be a copycat contract scammer in Local. You need to be more inventive and put in more effort.

And bots spamming fulfilled contracts is not funny?! You have a limited sense of humour...

OK first. I have no intention of trying the scamming game, nor is this intended as a debate as to the morality of it as a game style.
Scamming is a part of Eve, end of!

But, I have just been to 'Crazy Town' (Amarr system) to sell some stuff an restock a few things. I always call it 'Carzy Town' because from the moment I jump in, to the moment I jump out my local is minimized, to stop me being distracted by all of the drivvel.
A big percentage of that drivvel is obvious attemps at running scams. I'm just interested to know. Do people make money at this, or it it just something done for the lulz, gaggles & sh*ts?

one thing for sure, they loose braincells by doing it

They probably retain enough to spell 'lose' properly however...

I thought 'loose' was some sort of Eve meme. I've seen it spelled that way so often, I assumed it was a running gag that Eve veterans used. Like 'gone to the Americans' or 'all your base'.

Kind of depressing to realise it's not intentional.
