blah. I'd rather sell it.

a more practical way to develop anything 3D for the EVE client is using conventional monitors anyway, due to the headset's resolution being so low. so basically what I'm faced with is... open and play with it, or turn around and sell it for my money back plus 75% ish.

would rather sell it, and get something with 3D glasses instead.

I've given it some thought. I should admit, my motivations for purchasing the Rift were ... what's the word... everyone said it was for development, and I got it anyway to enjoy as a toy.

I've decided to open it, and put it to use. there's a bit of enthusiast modding invovled, (of .cfgs and .dlls and the like), and since 3D modeling is in line with what I foresee for myself...

I've decided to use it. properly--with a curious mind.

Mallak that's really cool that you got to try it.

It seems source engine has a lot of out of the box support for the Rift, so I'm going to start there with some 3D playing around. it's the low hanging fruit--I'll see how it goes, and whether I find myself interested enough to do stuff with 3D.

the thought amuses me that this could be a seemingly innocuous thing that changes the direction of my future forever. lol.

so anyway, my old computer is going back together, and I'll have ... at total of 7 monitors. In my defense, I don't plan these things. they end up happening. when i'm not doing Oculus stuff with the rig, I'll have my booster alt running on it. I really hate having to split a monitor between two clients. lol \o/

lastly, I didn't know where else to put this. Crossover <-the stream is on Twitch. good times

I found it really blurry, although someone mentioned that they need to be calibrated properly to suit each person & this just isn't viable in the sort of setting it was presented to us. It was really awesome, but I couldn't tell the difference between lasers & other ships once that thing was put on my head.

See if the support for it in Skyrim has improved. Heard it was a mess when some people tried it, but the potential of playing that game with Occulus Rift makes me wet my pants.
