Unallocated Skill Points....

Hi,

I have been away from eve for a couple years and find myself with 3.9million unallocated skillpoints.

I never really got into Eve before so I am still a newbie, what should I allocate my points into?

I was thinking of holding onto them for a while so I can use on some of those 29day skills I have heard about? Is that right?

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks

If you don't need them at the moment, you could hold onto them until you get to skills that you could do with having quickly.

Definitely just keep them for a while. Wait until you have a couple of 1.5m SP trains coming up and then use them to get those done in one shot. I also would wait until after all the ship balancing is done to make sure you don't dump them into something that winds up getting nerfed the next day. If you're still in the game in a year, then you might have a good idea for what to use them on.

That said, if you just have to have to use them now, look for fundamentals you have not done yet, like Electronics V, Engineering V, Weapon Upgrades V, Advanced Weapon Upgrades V; Energy Management V, Shield Management V, Mechanics V, Hull Upgrades V, etc. If you must spend it, then spend it on those boring things you never seem to get around to training, but will also never be sorry that you have once they're done.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

Thanks very much for the quick response.

As you both suggested I will keep them for a while as I am not in any rush to spend them.

Hopefully will be around in a year and will have fun doing those nasty skills instantly :)

I'll second this. If you don't have a pressing need for something, it's better to hold on to them. Basically do what you want and spend them when you hit skill barriers, that actually prevent you from doing what you like. Using them on something, that just gives a 5% bonus to something you already can do, but doesn't act as a barrier to new things is somewhat of a waste.
