Considering I'm about to go out into null sec as a freelance pilot (solo PvP), would you say that a Mymridon with ability to heal it's self, tackle, salvage, and use warfare links is better than a weaker, higher damaging (with large blasters), fast battlecruiser?

PS: (can somebody clarify if warfare links can be used on yourself to buff your ship and whether or not it is effective?)

Thank you

warfare links only work if you have a fleet member in space in the same system I think.

Freelance pilot means what exactly? Solo pvp?

Talos is far superior for that since its speed means it can engage and disengage at will.

For your situation:

The warfare link will require at least a 2 person squad to work.
One of the pilots must be in the squad leader position.

The person with the warfare link fitted needs to be assigned as squad booster and that will pass the link bonus to that squad only.

If you are solo, there is no other pilot in the squad who is undocked in the same system as you - you will get no bonuses at all from leadership skills or the link.

This only applies to gangs of 2 to 10 pilots.
For more pilots you need to use the Wing and Fleet roles and boost from those fleet positions.

But since it can't repair...is it worth the extra damage?

Who says it cant repair? Just because the hull doesn't have a bonus to repair modules doesn't mean you cant fit them on them ship.

Plus most Talos fits are shield and rely on buffer and passive recharge and most importantly NOT TAKING DAMAGE in the first place.

The myrmidon is flawed as a solo platform because you have to get down and dirty with the opponent and either you or him blow up. With a talos if things turn sour you can more often than not just gtfo

Null sec and solo PVP, i would deffently choose the Talos and use it for kitting.

Its easier to survive potential bubble camps, and it very good at killing incomming frigates.

I like both ships, but in null and solo i would deffently choose the Talos.

Talos is hands down the superior ship in every situation. The talos is one of the best solo / small gang ships currently in existence.

If you're looking at a solo boat, there are three criteria that are pretty important;

1. You want to be able to kill or disable things that are likely to be able to catch you
2. You want to be able to get away from things you don't want to fight.
3. You want to be able to catch at least some things that wouldn't want to fight you.

A Myrmidon might be tough to take on 1v1, but it has a fairly poor ability to force people to fight it or get out of bad situations, so what you're probably going to end up with is a bunch of people running away from you before you get dropped on / jump into a 10-man gatecamp.

You make it sound like you're going to live out there with your BC

You realize you will probably die in your first hour of roaming right?

Have you done a lot of PvP before?

Id suggest going into null sec with Destoyrers or Assault Frigates...

Battlecruisers will die pretty quick unless your skilled at being a sneaky pilot =)
