About Sean Decker and Microtransactions, and CSM. Does the whole player base feel the same?

I just realized that all of these conversations and issues are done in English. What do the Russians, Chinese, Japanese, and other non-English speaking players think of Sean Decker formally of Electronic Arts?

Does CSM have people who speak those languages to listen to what those players have to say? Does CSM meet before CCP and say, "The European players say this, but the Chinese players think that about the same issue. We think this is a good compromise between those two player sentiments"?

Are the CSM announcements or positions on issues translated into the other languages so that the WHOLE player base are aware of and on the same page as English speakers? Do they feel the same way about Sean Decker, Microtransactions, and Mintchip as the English speaking players who post their thoughts here do?

I ask this because, I play during odd hours sometimes, and I see players out there. I click on their bios, and it's in Russian, Japanese, or some other language. What's their take on all of this?

Chinese have their own server, so what they think as a group is totally irrelevant. In the western world every educated person knows at least basic english of some variety and CCP has local community managers, so language isn't going to be much of an issue for feedback. In all propability the forum posts you've already read are from a wide variety of nationalities and for many english isn't their first language, so you already have your answer.

I think it's adorable that the OP believes the CSM is relevant to anything CCP decides to do.

Well, they can also speak English too (I'm Japanese-Swedish, BTW), and stated enough on the other thread about it.

Even if they are on a different server, their buying the same game, and will face the same issues as we do. I don't think

So, if they don't speak any English, they're not educated?

I don't want probability. I want facts. Do not be so proud that you believe your post to be the answer to answer all questions.

I don't want condescension. I want answers. Or honest opinions.

I'd like to pay a plex a year per account to be called "sir" (or better yet a fixed isk fee to NPCs like rent, for reasons described below)

Things like "Warp drive active Sir " " Permission to dock has been granted sir."

Maybe another voice in station saying "Welcome to the Amarr Emperor fammily Station sir (can we wash your space ship?) "

I suppose I'd pay even more to have a Psa Psa Gabor voice (for the benefit of the eastern Europeans?) calling me "Master" like the Genie called the Astronauts in the 60's sitcom.

I mean.. .. if they had it in sitcoms they can have it in imaginary space ship worlds?

Maybe one plex equivalent a year for "sir" , two plex equivalents a year for "master" ?

A choice of a flat $ cost or with a flat Isk alternative could create a sought for isk sink and a beensy bit of a buffer in the rise of plex if executed in certain ways . The limited demand (not all players would want to pay 100's of millions of isk or 10$ to be called "sir" (or "master') wouldn't turn it into a fungible third currency. ( ... I suspect a larger percentage of plex purchases by weight of magnitude(not by # of players occasionally buying one or two a month) are from 1 or 2% of the players who buy dozens of plex at once in order to purchase a 20 billion isk character from the char bazaar or replace super cap (obviously not if they have good footing with a first rate moon holding corp which would likely pay for tha --- but one player wouldn't pay more than once a year per account to be called sir.. and most wouldn't pay it once)

Having a fixed isk NPC price for the vanity privilege would tend to increase the supply of plex when the ratio became favorable to sell plex and use isk to pay the NPCs.

Lol Micro-transactions for Vanity things like a Title that no one but the player would hear that wouldn't disrupt other peoples game play .

Properly structured with NPC isk alternatives to surrendering a plex for the privilege would keep those micro transactions from driving up plex prices in ways that do affect peoples game play (a great many people do pay for mutiple alts with plex... not because they like the game time they spend making isk and like to have a way to employ the isk they make in terms of the joys of maximizing IRR in game.. not some translation of outside wages to time running incursions ... they play to make isk,, they don't play because they need the isk for pvp ships.

If they're not educated, where did they learn to speak English (or any other foreign language)?

Considering they don't speak english, I doubt they follow the english video game scene, and probably don't care.

We don't know they're saying because the news hasn't been released in their region yet.

They have a Russian, German, and Chinese(?) forum if you scroll down the list instead of stopping at the dumping ground that is GD these days. If you click the DEV POSTS button, you'll also see dev blogs and posts in other languages.

As to why these are all in english, it's because these are the english language forums, and the rules say to post in english.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I suppose I wasn't clear. I didn't ask why non-English info are not posted on the English language forum. I'm asking if they're as fired up about the same issues as we are? Are they just as upset that a former EA exec is going to work at CCP as a senior VP in charge of everything, or are we English speakers the only ones that care about it? Do they have a CSM to represent them or is the CSM only capable of representing players from a limited region at the CCP meetings?

CCP provides a service to a global market. Is CSM representing globally, or regionally?

It looks like from your responses, you misunderstood my line of questions, or the answer is simply. No. They don't care about what people on the English language forums care about. And, no. CSM's player representative reach is limited.

Then why don't you keep your gaping cakehole shut until we actually have some facts? Even one?

Every single forum post about Sean Decker has been speculative, hand-wrining, drama-laden bullshit. It's ridiculous. We literally don't even know if he will have a direct role in EVE's future and yet here we are on like Page 50 of the "dicussion" regarding the implications of his hiring for the game.

That's NOT what my post is about. I'm not asking about Sean Decker. I don't even think you read my post. You are assuming I want facts about Sean Decker, but that means you did not read my post.

You FAILED.

*sigh* This is probably where I failed.

I assumed that someone who could read, write, and speak one of the other languages could take a quick look at the other forums to see what their take on these matters were, then come back here and let us know. However, I was gravely mistaken. I assumed others would understand that was what I was asking, but based on the responses I got, I don't think anyone has actually read my post.

I was under the impression that Decker predates all the stuff that people hate about modern EA, so all of this negativity towards him is rather unwarranted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't been paying much attention to the subject and nor do I particularly care to.

EA used to be a pretty good company.

Right, right. Sorry. You just want "facts" about what people who speak other languages think about the speculative, completely baseless bullshit that has been slung ABOUT Sean Decker since his hire, right?

Right.
