But seriously it is a great contest (I personally won't be participating). Make people travel and get out there. Check. More content. Check. More targets to shoot at locations we already know. Check. The whole theme of the patch being exploration. Check. Inevitable tears from whiny threads that they got shot at a CCP sponsored event, and how morally bad you are in real life. Check.

I think its a good contest

EvE is beautiful - one of the most beautiful games on the market.

Go and look at the planets from a belt....or those near a station......its amazing

Well it's rather the other way around 90% TiDi is ok, 10% not at all, don't ask me why.


When tidi is at 90%, you're moving at roughly 90% of your original speed. When tidi is at 10%, you're moving at 10% of your original speed. 10% percent of 100ms is 10ms where 90% of 100ms is 90ms...

Sorry for the dumbed down explanation, it wasnt indeded to be insulting or whatever. And obv its not just speed thats affected its everything. It was just easier to explain via speed.

EvE is a beautiful game, far more so than any other MMO's. I've seen some pretty impressive in-game screenshots!

Then they should suspend the subscription fee for the month if they're taking it off. What other company has the entire staff go on vacation for an entire summer and lower its level of service, this isn't grade school.

In my book, a screenshot contest that has you running all over is very fitting for during an expansion about exploration. ;)

If it's player-created content, then why am I paying for CCP to create content only reasonably available to players on the other side of the planet?

Look at the amount of dev posts, blogs, game updates, and this live event....it's a good portion of the staff away from keyboard. I don't blame anybody for taking a vacation but the fact that CCP allows enough of their staff to go on vacation at once that it admittedly "lowers their pace" should also be accompanied with a discount to the player base for the months that the service is affected. Otherwise stagger employee vacations so it doesn't affect player experience and smooths out the content across the entire year instead of taking off for a month and leaving the game alone.
