The Drain Train

Today I spoke to the man with no face about when we will be released.

He doesn't know.

While we were speaking we were interrupted by a child.

The child came walking in, like no big deal.

As it turns out the child wasn't even a child. He reached up and started ripping his face off. To reveal that it was actually just a valemolian wearing a child's skin.

Once the valemolian had completly removed the skin he promptly ate it, told us that he forgot why he came in the first place. And left.

The man with no face started getting irritated because he didn't know when we would be released. He felt like he should know. But he knew that he did not know whether he knew or not.

He picked me up by the mangus and carried me over to his sink.

He crammed me down the drain.

To my great surprise I was standing on the platform for what appeared to be a subway station

"Drain Train"

said the sign above me.

Right on cue a rickety train came barreling into view at a great speed. at the last possible second it came to a tremulous screeching halt.

The doors opened and the people without faces that were standing around me began sprinting, clawing, diving and pushing past each other to get onto the drain train.

Once they were on board, they acted like nothing had just happened. Completly disregarding the fact that they just boarded this train like their lives depended on it.

Just then, the announcer's voice came on

...onil??q?b won ?i ni??l ni??b ??T

said a female computer voice

"Well this is just great" I thought

"everyone is speaking in mirror"

"outstanding"

to be honest, I was hardly surprised. From the moment I stepped on the drain train I was fully expecting that the drain train would be full of surprises and new developments.

The drain train rapidly accelerated to a blistering pace.

I was seated in the car immediately behind the driver's car.

the conductor was in there with the driver, I could hear him egging the driver on

"GO FASTER FASTER, PLEASE GO FASTER"

"PULL THAT LEVER HARD"

"SWERVE TO THE LEFT"

"CHANGE LANES WITHOUT SIGNALING"

"LETS GO OFF OF THE TRACKS"

"HEY LETS GO INTO THE AIR"

"HEY HOW ABOUT YOU LET ME DRIVE"

The door to the driver's car slammed open, conductor standing in the doorway with a slightly crazed look on his face.

He blinked a few times and picked up a phone on the wall.

"We will be arriving in the place we are going soon"

A few of the people without faces looked up from their newspapers briefly.

"In addition we will be experiencing some turbulance"

said the conductor, and returned to the driver's car with a resounding thud, from the door.

Incidentally he was right. The whole train was suddenly heading uphill until it went flying off of the tracks.

Briefcases floated off of the floor in the few seconds of weightlessness. And then the train came crashing down with a bang and a screech onto the tracks again.

This happened 4 or 5 times. Each time the assortment of suitcases got more and more mixed up as they went flying around.

...noil?l? ln?m??inuq bn? ?mi?? oni??ln? wo?

The train came to a near instant stop. Sending the briefcases sliding down the train.

The faceless people stood up, grabbed the nearest briefcase and left the train.

Through the windows I could see people standing around and crying outside on the platform.

the doors closed again and off we went.

In a few minutes we reached the next stop and I got off.

Because it was my stop

yes
