Is it possible to actually get a 'real' email sent to me when someone posts on my thread?

I have searched key terms of my question on these forums to no avail.

I hate seemingly being rude by not responding to someones post but also I don't like checking my thread constantly and feeling let down that no-one has posted on it! Roll
