What's a good minimum speed for a kiting cruiser hull?

Been gone from the game for 2 years and just came back. Have not jumped into PvP yet, but I had a ship design question. Over the last two years with various changes to the ships of EVE, what would you say is the usual range of speed on most cruiser hulls?

Obviously, I'm just talking cruisers here, not anything bigger (or smaller). Also please discount pimp mods and implants - I'm looking for what is a good median speed for most of the hulls you guys see fitting across the four races. I'm looking at some of my old kiting fits and wondering if any are still viable.

Thanks!

anything around 2.4K/s is enough for most un-linked cruisers. The idea is to stay away from scary Scram thorax / Scram SFI And at that speed you should be fine. RLM caracal is head and shoulders above the rest of the T1 cruiser lineup, Scythe fleet / Omen fleet / Osprey Navy are all far superior if your willing to pay a bit more :)

Thanks, I kind of figured things had changed at least a little. One thing is that it seems a kiting Omen hull would be viable as it was before. That was one of my old fits from FW that had success. It seems the 2400 km/s benchmark would be a good place to assume a median benchmark.

In the past was it called "harassing" and not "kiting". Sometimes also referred to as "hit'n'run" and "Guerilla tactic". "Kiting" meant you move slower than your target and to lure it into your direction. With the existence of personal harassments over the Internet did the term become unpopular, I guess. Nowadays can one see EVE players call almost anything "kiting" even when they are orbiting at 1km distance. X

Anyhow, a good minimum speed for kiting or harassing is a speed above the Stabber as it is the fastest T1 cruiser. If you are slower than a Stabber will your ship have to compete with it and several other T1 cruiser hulls and you will be out of the race. The Stabber with MWD and without a speed mod/rig will do 2000 m/s, overheated 3000 m/s.

Honestly though, when you have to ask what the minimum speed is then you are doing something wrong. There is really only one speed and it is the maximum speed. The maximum speed is "as high as you can get it".

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Omen really struggles as a kiter, especially when compared to the Nomen. I am not saying that it can't be done but you are going to be handicapping yourself by using the T1 version.
