L4 Apoc?

Returning to the game after about a year long break. I was just starting to do L4s with an Apoc but now after the recent ship changes I'm a bit lost on how to fit an Apoc. I believe I used to run this ship cap stable with everything on but with the ship bonus changes I'm guessing that's impossible. Any recommendations?

Tank goes in your high slots. Stop being bad and fit a cap booster.

I didn't run a prop mod. Did some reading and it looks like cap stable is a thing of the past for Amarr BSes. I might look into a Geddon drone boat for PVE now.

Yea don't worry about cap stable unless you want to AFK in missions or have a horrible internet connection. 3-4 min of cap is plenty from my experience. Also if you're using pulse lasers it's nice to have an AB to keep in range.

Actually it has always been like that. If you're cap stable in Amarr BS you're doing it wrong.

2,5 mins of cap is fine for Apoc/NApoc. Remember that range is your main tank in Apoc/NApoc. Most NPCs don't even hit you from ranges you can hit/kill them. You hardly use your repairer in missions. Always disable your prop mod when not moving.

With the chages to the Apoc it is less stable, losing both capacitor and the cap use bonus for lasers, however it also got a smaller sig now, is quicker and tracks a lot better. A cap stable fitting, while possible is always a big wast of slots.

This is a basic Fitting I designed for a Amarr BS fitting thread. If you can use T2 guns, swap the rigs for a T2 Locus, T2 discharge and T1 discharge rig. The EM hardener can be replaced if you invest into imperial navy membranes and a stronger armor repper(core c to a type). For drones multiple waves of smalls if you still lose some, else 5 smalls and 2 sentry drones of your choice.

If you fit frigate size guns to match the frigate 1MN afterburner I bet this would be awesome at level 1 missions!

I've been flying abaddon, apoc and napoc for the last year, and it behaves ok even after the changes.
Hi - 8x T2 pulses
Med - 2x TC (with optimal range scripts), 2x Cap recharger (or 1x, +AB)
Lo - 1x LAR, 3x mission specific hardeners, 1x tracking enhancer/cap relay/drone dmg module-depends on you, 3x faction heat sink

Rigs-1x cap recharge, 1x rate of fire, 1x the "repair more" one :)

Im sitting at my job, so I dont remember the exact module names, sorry

Its not cap stable, but as mentioned, it does not have to be.

This fit (on napoc) is much more than enough for every sansha/blood raider/drone/gallente L4 mission.

Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Hammerhead II x5
Hobgoblin II x5
Warrior II x5

Stats are based on all level 5 except for Armor Resistance Phasing and without any implants.

DPS:
776 (2677) with Scorch, 62+10km, last 3m51s
675 (2239) with IN Standard, 41+10km, cap stable at 37%
832 (2921) with IN Xray, 31+10km, last 6m58s
933 (3359) with IN Multifreq, 21+10km, last 3m51s

cap stats above assumes AB is always on, which really shouldn't be the case. So, it's basically cap stable.

Tank:
83,621 EHP
80.9/75.1/36.3/32.0 initial resist (without RAH balancing out), 524 ehp/s
84.3/79.6 EM/Therm resist with 30/30 EM/Therm RAH distribution, ~650 ehp/s if I remember it correctly

Speed:
408 m/s

900 mil price tag when I fit this, which is like a month ago.
Not sure now...should be around 1 bil isk.

Yeah lame EWar is a big part of why I run Minmatar missions... painters are basically harmless unless you're doing it in a cruiser (other than t3).

Cap stable with ab off (with energy management 3 and and energy systems operation 4)
cap lasts 5:52 with everything on

obviously swap out the hardners depending on the rats u fight. Also bring hobgoblins and hammerheads.

OP I was also incredibly worried about cap when they changed the hull bonuses on the apoc . but ccp redcued cap usage of large energy turrets by like 10% or something. Im terrible at math so dont ask me how a 10% bonus helps against a 50% loss but ive only got a little less stability than before so im not bothered.

Instead of trying to make guns and armor repping both cap stable, try using cap injected setups. Check the following setup, its a bit skill intensive but has better damage projection.

[Apocalypse, lv4 mission runner]
Large Armor Repairer II
True Sansha Armor EM Hardener
True Sansha Armor Thermic Hardener
True Sansha Armor EM Hardener
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L

Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L

Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Hobgoblin II x5
Hammerhead II x5

Its not super expensive, the faction armor hardeners are cheap and so is the T2 discharge rigs.
True Sansha Armor EM Hardener < 7 mil
True Sansha Armor Thermic Hardener around 21 to 22 mil
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation II around 19 mill (for comparison Large Capacitor Control Circuit I is around 14 mill)

Note : The Tech2 discharge rigs offer better bang than the standard CCC rig. Your main cap usage is guns. This setup is cap stable with guns + tracking comps + armor hardeners running. fill your cargohold with as many 800 cap charges as your ammo takes almost no space. Switch the tracking script from Optimal Range to Tracking Speed as needed. Pulse armor repper and cap injector when needed.

gun dps with Scorch is 584 at 80k and with Navy Multi its 733 at 27k (with optimal range scripts)
additional drone dps is 158 for medium drones and 99 for smalls.
Theoretical max dps is 976 (818 + 158) at 21k or 743 (584 + 158) at 80k(actually 60k as thats the limit of drones control range caps)
You can even try using Conflag crystals to push the dps even further but it will result in poor tracking.

For simple dps chart
DPS:
743 (2532) with Scorch, 80+16km with 0.043 tracking (not an issue as things are far off)
647 (2118) with IN Standard, 54+16km with 0.058 tracking
769 (2648) with IN Xray, 40+16km with 0.058 tracking
891 (3177) with IN Multifreq, 27+16km with 0.058 tracking
976 (3545) with Conflag, 21+10km with 0.066 tracking (with tracking scripts)

Anyways this fit is a bit resilient to tracking disruption and has the flexibility to go for long range or better tracking as needed.

Total fit costs around 300 mill.

Im serious, how many times have i seen this gurd darn thread. tachs, all gank little tank shooting out at about 200km and using a mjd too get that distance and you beat every mission in the game except for the ones with a large amount of missile bastards. Roll
