Great idea, great resource.

CCP Phantom, have you guys thought about doing this in VIDEO format along the same lines of a "News Channel" type presentation?

Allowing for reasonable technical issues, you guys could probably manage a video installment of this same process perhaps once (1) per month ?

I have to say, I usually try and keep up with the news throughout the week, but sometimes I miss a story or a DEV post. Now, however, I can catch up on it all on a Saturday morning and in the process keep my CEO and XO's up to date on current issues.

I hate having to go to so many different parts of the forums and community websites to check up on development, balancing, backstory, etc. and this solves that problem very simply. Thanks CCP!

Thanks! Love the update. If CCP's goal is to attract new subs, then better communication is a step in the right direction. Might want to move future updates to the character selection screen. The login screen goes away quite quickly when autoplay is selected.

I've wondered why CCP didn't appear interested in mimicking the effective communication methods found in successful MMOs . Good to see that you've decided it's not always necessary to reinvent the wheel.

Please read my preceding statement one more time. Good communication makes CCP money. I also like the idea of a video blog, though it's easier to read and follow the links for more detailed info.

Excellent idea! maybe make it a twice monthly update though you will get fed up doing them weekly.

One nice addition would be a simple list with possible status of things from the ideas players give that are currently having serious CCP activity / thought / work being done on them. as stated by Macker "quoted"

Love the idea, keep up the great work.

It's all about presentation and the attention span of the audience. Links are always good, but people love video more. It's "easier" and "convenient". Marketing, marketing, marketing... Blink

Great to see something German language players already came to appreciate getting an english counterpart. Those weeks in review are a great resource for those not willing/able to sift through all those news resources you have to offer Big smile

I love this idea!!!

especially if it could be worked in to the video feed in the captains quarters! I love sitting on that couch while i update my sell/buy orders and check my planetary interaction stuffs, would love to have actual in-game news about the game to listen to in the background :)

This is a good idea. Why not let us know what you're working on? People who are involved in a game are more likely to stay around and invite their friends.

Don't tell me you have the CSM NDA'd because you're afraid of other similar space games stealing you're ideas. There are no other games like eve...yet. Better to get us involved now and keep us hooked, then have to draw us back when the competition releases their games next year or so.

Please let us know what you're working on, CCP. Other MMO's do it.

Hey, I am "audience" and I find video format annoying. I read faster than they could speak and I understand written English way better than spoken one even without funny accents (and anyway, I *never* could understand John Lander, albeit he's British Ugh).

So, give me written reports over video, 10x any time of day or night. Cool

I don't think any one is asking for video INSTEAD of written, I personally would like to see video tied to the in game content some how as i mentioned earlier in the captains quarters video screen or something like that, the in game bill boards etc, then leave the written for the update sites and forum posts :)
