Ice mining lasers for Venture

Can we get a Ice Mining lasers for the Venture or a new ship like the Venture made for Ice mining? I would love to mine the sweet ice fields in low sec but I'm not going to do it in something that costs me 30m+ So pleaseeee CCP make this happen <3

Please, be more of a carebear. You're unwilling to risk 30 million ISK on a ship that can double that in less than a day? Surely, you jest.

Ventures are rookie mining ships that happen have uses in more dangerous locales, nothing more. They mine ore. There is little risk in using Ventures as is, there's no reason to mitigate even more risk by introducing such a module for Ice Mining.

The biggest problem I foresee with this is abuse. Industrials can fit one of these and then AFK mine their asses off.. which is bad. Very bad. You know how CCP rebalanced Ice Mining with Odyssey? Well, one of the things they so graciously gave us was a buff to ice harvester duration, a 50% decrease in cycle time in fact.

Aside from turning Ice Mining into a profitable, limited and more noteworthy profession in EVE, shorter cycle times also hinder AFK mining. Perhaps not by much, I honestly can't say as I don't partake because mining is ******* boring.

I have my share of experience with EVE's industry and I think I can say that Ice Mining needs to remain as is; a smaller niche profession. It is a small form of specialization for barge/exhumer pilots as you need 2 extra skills to harvest and process ice products. You also have to have the patience of a sloth to even want to do it. I see little reason to mitigate risk and make backward progress when CCP is promoting more active gameplay. Even if it is carebearing.

a procurer can do the job if it has a good fitting, i dont see the problem, also, it has more cargo than the venture.

Doesn't ice still come in 1km3 blocks? It seems like such a ship would need an exorbitantly long cycle timer to mine such a block.
