T3 Cruisers - In-space refitting

This thread is not about how to rebalance T3 Cruisers.

A T3 would carry 3 designated fits. Each "fit" would be set in station and carried in an inaccessible bay. A T3 Cruiser would be able to "transform" in space, equipping different subs and modules.

The transformation would have a 30 second base timer. Each subsystem changed would add an additional 30 seconds to the timer. Each high-slot module would add 10 seconds, while each mid/low slot module would add an additional 7 seconds to the timer. While the transformation process it happening, the ship is rendered immobile and will attempt to slow to a stop, all locks from the T3 will be broken, and all modules will deactivate. In order to start the process, the pilot must not have a weapons timer and have over a reasonable amount of capacitor, such as 70%.

This process would leave the T3 vulnerable in space for the duration of the change.

That's what Carriers and Orcas are for isn't it.

Hold up, wait for it.....
You cant switch subsystems with an orca or a carrier.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Figure they could, oh well.

Still, on the fly swapping for T3s, not until they've had their rebalance, that would make the Tengu ridiculous.

My thoughts on a Truly Modular T3 ship.

There should be restrictions, such as:
It takes 1 minute per subsystem to refit.
All modules need to be turned back online.

Special abilities for the T3 for this would be:
A 600m^3 Subsystem and Module Bay must be loaded in a POS or Station.
A 15% reduction in the capacitor needs for putting modules online.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Stop flogging this incredibly stupid idea.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

capitals in general and yes that indeed is what fitting service for capitals and POS`s are for. they cant switch subs on those fitting services and that should be fixed. but a T3 should NEVER EVER be able to refit out of thin air that would be unrealistic and overpowered

No. It was a bad idea in the other thread and is just as bad here. Please stop the madness.

No, the tengu is not the most flown T3 in WH. It is an awesome PVE ship, like the drake, because of shields and missiles. It is not overly popular in PVP in more than 1 or 2 configurations normally for the same reasons as above.

On the fly refitting is a bad idea.
