Can we get a transparent dscan cone as a visual representation of dscan coverage?

It would be great if in the system map we had the option to turn off and on a transparent white cone (or sphere) representing dscan. This would be a great visual representation fo what 5, 15, 30 degrees etc is scanning.

+1 great idea.

Also, since the anoms and sigs now show in the overlay in space, how about showing us selected d-scan categories there as well?

So, you're a bounty hunter. No, that ain't it at all. Then what are you? I'm a bounty hunter.

Brilliant Idea.

I've relied on the F11 map to provide a 2d cone for a long time, but it's small and has the rest of that terrible map UI pop up with it. This would be amazing.

Press F11. Look at the bottom window. Much more useful than what you're proposing.

Yes, because a 2d display is so much more helpful than a 3d display... O.o

I guess if you are just scanning POCOs it'll do, serious scanners would appreciate a 3d display.

The F11 thing that nudges your screen across? Yeah its not ideal for d-scanning things down accurately. You get a flat plain representation and have to keep looking back at it in disbelief, "Check range, looks to be at the gate! oh that gate is miles down there, damnit THE SUN GO GO"

Not asking for a super easy mode for the d-scanner, but it'd be nice to see that my camera isnt playing tricks by being off-center from what I want to scan while tracking cam is active. I've still not got used to the skew I get from that *fails horribly, relies on guesswork, worst scout*

etc :P

this thread seems pointless as you just look out into space when using dscan and you know that the angle goes out from the point your camera is looking at outwards.

and if you can't tell when your camera is moving on its own, you need to quit doing drugs.

I already pin down targets with high accuracy but without 3d UI its hard sometimes.

Kid, sit down and let the adults talk about proper dscanning.
