About suicide ganks...

I'm bored and I want to suicide gank someone...

If I understand correctly, CONCORD response times are slower as sec level drops?

If this is the case, then 0.5 systems are prime for suicide ganking?

Also, If I'm successful and finish the kill before CONCORD arrives.

If I leave my ship will CONCORD:

a) pod me or,

b) blow up my empty ship or,

c) both?

Really just curious if it's possible to survive pulling off a gank in Hisec, and if so what the technique might be.

Thanks :D

Hello,

yes concord will start killing you after approx 20 seconds after you do your illigal thingy in 0.5 systems.
They will only kill your ship...very effectively^^

They will leave your pod alone, but keep in mind that any player in eve can kill your pod now anytime for 15 minutes.
Also if you undock in a ship while having the criminal flag concrod will kill you again...so wait out the timer or warp around in your pod.

A good guide you can see here http://www.minerbumping.com/p/blog-page.html or on the eveuni pages, regarding timers.

Also the new order guys are atm the way to go for highsec ganks. There are other groups like miniluv? or something from goons, but you need to be alliance member.

In the new order you get your ship replaced and you dont even need to join any corp or anything. Just kill stuff and have fun :)
Its like a ganking community if you like to call it that way.

CONCORD will never pod you (but players might).
You cannot leave your ship while you have a criminal flag.

If you manage to find a way to save your ship from CONCORD, your account will be banned, so you'll lose much more than just your ship.

This.

Also keep in mind that you cannot leave your ship while having a criminal timer. You will be "scrambled" system wide, so you cant even warp away...all you can do is wait to get killed by concord and then warp the pod away.

So you want to suicide only ships you can afford to replace. So throwawayships are the way to go if you want to do it for a longer period of time.

So mandatory loss of ship. Got it.

Thanks :D

Hence the term "suicide gank",

If you join the New Order, we will reimburse your lost ships.

I appreciate the info. It's good to know there are corps for this type of activity.

If (when) I start doing this it will be on my PLEXED alt I'm skilling up for PVP.

I will be missioning/exploring on this capsuleer with my wife and don't want to destroy my sec status.

Thanks!

You dont need to have a dedicated alt on another account for that.
You can use one of the character slots.
After only 8 hours you can sit in a catalyst and use the guns and you do like 200 dps.

I myself made a char. trained it 5 days. now i pull off over 430 dps overheated in meta 4 fitted catalysts.
And as it is a under 900k sp char you dont even need to upgrade your clones, nor do you care about te security status as it is designed to have a low one :)

Just saying. So pause training on your main for 5 days and you have a shiny new gank character.

I'll be trying it asap, just don't get a lot of time to log on...

If your sec status gets too low, you can buy pirate tags off the market then turn them in at specific stations to get your sec status back up. I'm not sure of the details though.

what bruce said. You can consider using a 10 hour hero, or getting a dedicated alt account. 10 hour heroes work fine, every extra bit of dps counts.

I've seen this before and I am wondering. How do you "turn in" the tags?

Something that people above seemed to have missed...

DO NOT try to evade CONCORD's response/retribution if you have incited it. Doing so is considered an exploit and will be swiftly met with the banhammer.

Other than that... suicide gank away!

Ganking is a blast.

Here are a few tips:

1. If you fit and skill right you can have time to even pod your victim in .05 space. You lose sec status for each: ship and a little bit higher sec status hit for a pod. The person you pod has a 30 day kill right on you. It means they can activate the KR at any time or even sell it to anyone, any corp, or all EvE players.

2. I would skill thermodynamics if I were you. Then you can set everything to overheat, that way you do maximum damage quicker and may get that pod. Set the overheat before you even warp to your target.

3. Cloaky alts are super to have in these cases, or even cloaky friends. They can covertly fly right over your target and then you can warp to him at zero if you are fleeted.

4. Practice what you are going to do in your head. My first gank was frikkin' hilarious and a total fail, the second one was good, and the third one my m8 accidentally targeted me and blew up my ship. Fun Times my friend!

5. If your target has drones out and they are set to aggressive then your target will have you on their kb because their dreones will attack you unless they are busy killing rats.

I'm not a carebear... I'm a SPACE BARBIE!  Now... where's Ken?

Love all the responses and helpful info. Awesome community Blink

I was wondering if I would just get flamed for posting such a topic. I can't wait to get started!

Take the tags to one of the Concord stations scattered through lowsec. At the station you can select the Security Office station service to trade the tags and some ISK for a sec status increase.

Down this route of thought: While Concord will kill a "criminal" and evasion of that kill is banable, - IF you manage to take out a single Concord ship while they're firing on you, do highsec Concord ships drop Concord tags? (A la Blockade in npc null)
