Need advice on what to aim for to do lvl 4 mission / exploration effectively

Hey

Since I started playing my skill training has been all over the show. My problem is that I could never decide what I wanted to do or fly... but I've decided I want to do lowsec exploration and lvl 4 missionrunning/Incursions for ISK making to fund some PvP on the weekends.

The other problem is that I've not really specialized toward one style of play. Right now I'm loving Caldari Missile boats (Raven etc.) but I'm not sure what I could fly effectively enough at the moment to do missions/exploration, as the only Tech 2 Weaponry I can use on Cruisers and above is Autocannons & Artillery (I can use no T2 Weapons on Battleships yet)..

So I need some advice with what I should do. Here are my skills:

I'm finishing Shield Operation V after Hacking & Archaeology III. After this I've been thinking of training Cruise Missiles up so I can use T2 Cruise Missiles... but not sure what to go for, really. Some people say the Tengu?
I'm struggling to see what I am capable of doing right now with my current skill set, and what I should train towards to achieve my aims.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Probably for every two people posting reply you will get three opinions. If not more.

Anyway, here's my one.

In my experience, it's better to specialise first, diversify later. Though I did opposite and I live. But if you try to optimalise growth path you will get better results when you, say, use certain ship with certain weapons, max all relevant and supporting skills and then try something new. Incidentally, part or most of those supporting skills will apply to new gear too.

For L4 I reckon the force progression would be:
battlecruiser -> HAC -> (optionally) T3 -> T1 battleship -> marauder -> pirate battleship

You are not required to go through all steps but again, whichever you are at, try to maximize (or get at least to 4) all skills affecting given ship and modules and only after that train what is necessary for the next step.

If you want to go the Cruise Missile route then you really should get your Cruise Missile Skill to 5 (allows the use of Fury and Precision missiles... this is big), plus take Target Navigation and Guided Missile Precision to 4.... 5 would be better. Then work to get a Raven Navy Issue. A standard Raven works, but the Navy version is significantly better.

Cruise Missiles / Rank 5 / Level: 3 / SP: 40,000 of 226,274
Target Navigation Prediction / Rank 2 / Level: 3 / SP: 16,000 of 90,510
Guided Missile Precision / Rank 5 / Level: 3 / SP: 45,295 of 226,274

How much isk you got? I would suggest you aim for a macharial. Shield fit it. Meta 4 guns with your skills will still work great.
As long as you are cap stable with 100mn ab your good to go. Might need to train up some nav skills. If you don't have the isk, use a maelstrom till you can. Train your gallente and mini b2 to 4 before you worry about T2 guns.
Can't remeber my fit exactly, but 800mm AC highs, 100mn AB, x-large SB(boost when needed), invuln(maybe 2) em ward.. something like that, i omni tanked it, use a therm rig to close the therm gap. 4 gyro's and 3 TE's in the lows. I have 2 ca[p rigs.
Just remember to keep moving. take some light drones for just in case. This works like a charm, used it for at least a year before I trained T2 guns. If you mail me in game I will send the fit.
This worked before the patch/nerf to TE's and still works just as well now. Jump on the test server and test it..

The king of missile mission running is the Tengu. I use a tengu to do L4 in curse for Angel and in Stain for True Sansha. 1k dps with the proper faction fit you run most mission in 10-15 min max.

So what you are saying you want to focus and train for 4 diffrent kind of things at once ?

Idd suggest pick one of those 4 and train towards that, instead of doing all 4 a bit and get nowhere.
