1. What will be the game be like in in the future?

I feel that EVE is heading towards a multi-gameplay orientated future. From what I have seen of CCP's DUST and other projects, as well as the promise of a TV Series..I think that EVE has great potential to evolve and become its own platform of gaming in its own right. What is offered in EVE currently dwarfs every other mmo out there and I am really excited for the future. Id like to see what happens with Eve VR and see DUST Evolve to become more integrated with Eve itself, and I am really looking forwards to the tv series production.

2. What feature am I looking forward to and why?

Further expansion of the ships currently in the game.

Why? Well Additional ship types or just adding more to each race in the current classes can have massive effects on the game that ripple. That is what truly makes Eve shine, the rippling effect. It doesn't matter if your a miner, scientist, trader, soldier, warmonger, CEO or just a pilot.

Introduce a new carrier class that's only a batlecruiser, suddenly the economically orientated players want to know how much it is to make, can they make a fortune if they produce it, who will buy it..etc...while on the other side of the table you have the warmongers. Will this new carrier be able to field any strategic elements, what happens if we field 100 of them against a bigger target, will it be cheap and effective, will it be costly and overused...and of course you have the collectors too! What will the ship look like, can we buy it or will we have to build it..etc

3. What is my greatest fear for the game?

My greatest fear is that Eve will lose the elements that make it exciting and that it will forget it needs both old and new play ers to survive.

Eve is A ruthless, beautiful universe where danger, riches and ruin lie at every corner. There needs to be a balance here, I have witnessed several friends try eve and run away after the first loss, Eve needs to accomodate the new players and welcome them into its fold, but it needs to do that without losing the edge it currently holds. Just look at Burn Jita, or Hulkageddon, or any other number of player organized events that have had rippling effects throughout the entire universe.

Afterall, we all know that Highsec is not truely 'safe', but what if it was? That would just destroy the game. Eve has got to keep up what it does best: Innovating and Risk taking.

EVE, The final frontier. Some claim EVE is real, and in a sense they're right. Thousands of players, all in one big sandbox universe. EVE stretches far beyond the game, and into real life where new found friends all share the same passion. And in a sense it becomes like a second family.
Emergent gameplay and constant content and expansions are what draws most people to EVE. Whether you're a pirate, or an industrialist, you have a big impact on the universe around you and your actions will ripple throughout.
I believe our journey has just begun, and new riches and unexplored regions of space lies ahead. I look forward to the new horizons and stories to be experienced and shared.
EVE sets itself apart from most other MMO's in so many ways, and I hope CCP keeps doing such an amazing job interacting and listening to the community to make our experience a truly unique one. My greatest fear would be in a parallel universe where EVE has lost it's sandbox element and emergent gameplay. EVE is a hard, cold, and cruel universe.. One we've all come to love.

1. What will be the game be like in in the future?

The game, if it continues to do as well as it does, will grow larger and larger while keeping the same types of people as it's fan base; EVE is unique, and has no love for annoying little children who insult someone else's mother whenever they get angry. I see the possibility of new ships being added, as well as the eventual inception of much older ships, which we have not been able to use as of now.

2. What feature am I looking forward to and why?

I hope to see EVE become more and more of a visually and aurally beautiful game than it is already; space is vast, endless, and beautiful, and I am sure that the game will only look better and better. Additionally, with the production of the Oculus Rift, I am looking forward to the idea of looking around more in the game; perhaps the captain's quarters will become interesting as a result. And in the distant future, I see myself transferring my consciousness to a computer just before death, and playing EVE forevermore!

3. What is my greatest fear for the game?

My greatest fear for EVE is that someone will try to adapt it to appeal to a wider fan base; the game is succeeding as it is, and it has done well. Greed is NOT good for us players, and we will openly express anger if something unwise is done to our precious New Eden.

In the future, I believe EVE will become larger and interact with more platforms and communities. Perhaps an e-sports element, perhaps more console spin-offs, perhaps tie ins with social media or mobile (or whatever is hot next decade) and further reflections of the real world which in many ways EVE achieves better than any other game.

I'm looking forward to changes in core mechanics to shake up the pvp environment and make it so that old players have to adapt and have new challenges to look forward to.

I'm most worried that EVE will stagnate due to CCP fear of upsetting the nullsec powerhouses, combined with further resource centralisation in the hands of the few that already dominate the economic and political assets. This would then alienate more and more new players or independents.

But perhaps most of all, I hope and believe the ability that small groups with simply the desire and zeal to go out and make an imprint on New Eden will remain.

Q. What will the game be like in in the future?

A. I think EVE will be very similar to what it is now. I see CCP adding more new ships, skills, mods, missions, solar systems, and rats in the future. I see better graphics and rendering. I see ''the door'' opening up in station. I see ‘’lone wolfs’’ being able to compete with the big corps and alliances. I see the captain’s quarters being more functional. I see the PLEX system going back to just being able to add game time to your account.

Q. What feature am I looking forward to and why?

A. The biggest features I’d be looking forward to would be:

1). Being able to break through the atmospheres of planets and moons, fly a few hundred feet above the ground, find a place to land, get into a space suit, and explore for and collect resources on the planet’s surface.
2). To be able to walk up to and go inside any PI structures that I own.
3). Do a fly-by on an in-progress DUST 514 match.
4). Dock up to and walk around in all structures in EVE including other ships that can carry ships (i.e Orca).
5). To be able to dock my own ships instead of being ‘’towed’’ in. Turn docking into an optional mini game where you have to line up X and Y axis to successfully dock and if you fail you get towed in anyways. Successful docking attempts can be rewarded with LP’s, ISK, or whatever.
6). In cockpit flight.
7. Useful Camera Drones! If I want to mine in a 0.0 system and I want to keep an eye on all stargates in that system (up to 5 of course) I think players should be able to deploy camera drones and have them sit in anchorable locations to provide intel via mini cam screens on your client that are closable, minimizable, maximizable, stackable, movable, customizable, ,and pinnable...

Q. What are my greatest fears for the game?

A. My biggest fears in EVE is:

1). That PLEX and ‘’pay to win’’ tactics play a role in your success in EVE.
2). That EVE’s monthly subscription costs rise.
3). There will be another Incarna.

1. I hope that eve is very similar to how it is now. Except with more new ships, completed tiercide, some new capitals, a pos re work and expanding upon the new hacking mini game. Some new null regions would be nice too.

2. The only "features" I am truly looking forward to is the continued rebalancing of ships and some new ones.

3. My biggest fears are that CCP will continue to cater to the care bear population and ultimately lose sight if the "harsh and unforgiving" nature of the game. I am even more worried about the potential for "gold ammo" and eve migrating towards a F2P (pay to win) model. Also the thought of walking in stations and further expansion of the NEX store becoming a priority absolutely terrifies me.

With the majority of games you not really thinking what is happening when you are offline. With EVE Online you are thinking the whole day (and sometimes nights) what could have happen while your offline.

Also, the Jovian Construct (a station) is the Jovian Mothership. There are two in Jove space, while one is elsewhere.

I freshly ran out of Amarrian tealeaves so predicting EVE's future is difficult. I think we will see some tablet version at some point tough.

There are two features I'm looking forward too, both have already been prototyped.
Feature 1 is 'Cities in Space'. POS's on the move! No longer a vertical stick confined to moons but fleshed out EVE Lego blocks with engines. Boldly going where no EVE POS has gone before! The reason for that is that I think we need more places in space to create conflicts, preferably move away from the 'star gate choke point'. Moving away from that will, I think, get low sec some much needed love.

Feature 2 is Ambulation or 'Walking in Space'. It would replace the current exploration into real exploration where players can dock at abandoned structures/ships and find out those are maybe not as abandoned as they thought or bump into another group of players that used a different airlock to access the structure.

My biggest fear though is that F2P or worse, P2W sneaks into EVE. I still have nightmares about 1000 dollar pants!

1. What will be the game be like in in the future?
EVE Online will be my materialized dream of an endless space where courageous immersive exploration goes hand in hand with a communicative vast richness of species. All connected to each other and in attainment for wealth and prosperity. Each individuum (like me) faces opportunities and choices inimitable in its kind. Sophisticated technology foster the open minded intergalactic and cross-cultural communication. Therefore, after almost ten years, I will continue to advocate for my dream.

2. What feature am I looking forward to and why?
A very cool feature would be something like an "Action-TV" channel. In station or in space you could tune in an zap thru different channels and see a life stream from things that happen right at this moment. If there is a great battle somewhere… you can watching "Action-TV" an be part of it. The camera should be an AI-Drone deployed by an exterior force (like concord). It will change view-spots from time to time (zoom out, zoom in, move position, follow ships, etc.). This would allow pilots "to be part" of some action moments.

3. What is my greatest fear for the game?
I play the game almost 10 years and I am bounded because of this four reasons: 1. Playerbased content (player/corp/alliance driven actions with an true impact). 2. Massive battlefields. 3. Have a good time with friends and 4. Get in contact with other star pilots all over the world. To "vandalize" one of those four key elements will ruin EVE Online and maltreat my game experience.

1. What will be the game be like in in the future?
Years from now, when other MMOs have burned out their player base with the same recycled content, we'll look at Eve and marvel at how it could--and still will--capture and keep its players motivated, happy and having fun by pushing off content development to the players themselves. Shifting the emphasis from the developers to create and drive content to the players meant that players could--and did--continually create content that they found compelling and interesting, provided the developers gave them the tools to do so. CCP kept its end of the bargain, and the players kept theirs by continually shaking things up, hunting each other and driving the game's success engine. And we had a fun time doing it.

2. What feature am I looking forward to and why?
I think its very interesting to see what sort of "conflict drivers" CCP will create in the future. In the most recent expansion, Odyssey, CCP gave us a new resource map and breakdown. This had an almost immediate effect of creating a war for resources across much of the New Eden universe. What will CCP develop next? What new ships will we see? Will we ever see a supercapital-killing BC? Will there be faster means of travel for smaller fleets? Will Titan bridges be balanced around having Titans on either side, forcing players to commit their assets for truly spectacular-scale combat? These questions, and many more, are what keep me interested, participating and excited!

3. What is my greatest fear for the game?
My greatest fear for Eve is that too much will be sacrificed in the name of harvesting new accounts. Eve is very much a game similar to chess wherein it takes minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. Certainly Eve doesn't require a lifetime, but the ever-changing meta game, new and rebalanced ships and modules, as well as resource shake ups mean that players spend much of their time thinking about Eve and their next moves, often big moves. Taking this aspect out of the game would be detrimental to its existence; Eve thrives on an educated player base, and shrinking this educated player base for the sake of bigger numbers is what I fear the most.

Enter grid and you're already dead, destined to be reborn and fight another day.

Eve will undergo the usual expansion and contraction phases that pulse throughout an overall growing playerbase. CCP will make stupid mistakes and beautiful improvements, the playerbase will hate and adore them for it. Somewhere someone will be being ganked while carrying thousands of dollars worth of PLEX and someone will make thousands of dollars worth of plex through a scam, or a heist or something similar. Business will continue.

Edit : Long term? Reality will become more and more like Eve. Especially the bugs.

1) Seeing real-time orbiting planets, stargates and stations from your spaceship window, just after you returned from an engine room having a wild conversation with one of your (NPC) engineers. Sitting down on your spaceship chair, enjoying the view, while the capsule is getting ready to be occupied again...

2) Solo content reimagined, giving boost for those who seek solitude, allowing them to be fully part of the sandbox in their own, unique way. PVE, lore immersion and solo PVP iterations.

3) Dying of EVE, drop of average number of online players.

I think EVE's second decade will usher in a new generation of MMOs and the way they are developed. For ten years, every new MMO that came out seemed to mirror its predecessors in one way or another. Budgets increased in proportion to ambitions, and I feel we are now witnessing the slow-motion popping of this bubble. We have watched patterns emerge in the games' settings and mechanics, and we've seen trends in their long-term sustainability.

As so many gamers have grown and matured in those ten years, so have our expectations of what a virtual world should be. Meanwhile, EVE has been slowly boiling in the background, biding its time and culminating into what we've always wanted, though we may not have always realized it.

Like a teenager who fails to appreciate the music of their parents' generation, EVE just had to wait for us to grow up a bit.

Now MMO developers and gamers alike have begun to come around to seeing the values and virtues of the sandbox design. We've seen that a 200 million dollar budget does not mean a game will be great if it doesn't foster a truly passionate and devoted community. And that's what is ultimately most important in any MMO. If an MMO is not inherently designed to support and facilitate the desires of the people who play it, it is doomed to fail.

CCP has instilled in us a unique sense of self. We aren't so much players of EVE as we are citizens of New Eden. We are not tourists who visit every six months to grind through whatever new content gets released. We live here. We congregate and interact here. And by doing so we shape the game world around us. Our actions are represented not as a set of armor, but as an entire universe.

No other game can offer that level of collective accomplishment. No other game stands as a testament to the actions and interactions of its players. Without us, without the community, EVE would not exist as it does today.

"The most punchable face in New Eden."

Be excellent to each other.

Two quotes;

1st.

"I was told by CCP Devs at a CCP meetup 'off the record'. The POS code is so bad, simply talking about it, or changing it in the slightest way, could make the entire POS logic go totally SKYNET! It could become self aware, and may lead to a robots vs human war. I'm not kidding, CCP Seagul was standing right next to us, and she agreed."

2nd

"This is one of the strangest things I've found about EVE. Yes we will kill you, take all your stuff and then **** on your frozen corpse, but if you ask, we will also tell you how we killed you, how you could not only avoided being killed but killed us instead, and then invite you to join our gang so we can teach you.

We EVE players are honestly the nicest bunch of psychopaths you will ever meet. So long as you have the right attitude towards things and aren't a little ***** about it you can and will make friends for life from your worst enemies in EVE.

1. What will be the game be like in in the future?

More immersive, more opportunities for players to "stake their claim" and incentives to organize everywhere, not just in nullsec. It should continue to have no restrictions to combat and the consequences of your mistakes should always matter. The empire building metagame will continue to be expanded.

2. What feature am I looking forward to and why?

I'm looking forward to the POS and sovereignty revamps. Less dependence on NPC provided infrastructure is always good.

3. What is my greatest fear for the game?

The developers putting too much focus into making the game "for everyone", which has always seemed like a subtle way of saying "going carebear." An EVE where deception, betrayal and theft get you banned is just not EVE, and an EVE where there is no reward for taking risks is not EVE at all.

1. What will be the game be like in in the future?

A huge sprawling science fiction universe with tons of lore and a immersive in station/on planet environment. Huge battles, scams, spies and isk spent.

2. What feature am I looking forward to and why?

I'm really hoping for CCP to add more walking in station stuff. It as of now feels very immersive and really makes you feel very weak when out of your spaceship.

I hope CCP adds hats. Hats for ships, hats for hats, hats everywhere.

3. What is my greatest fear for the game?

Free to play or unfair micro transactions. F2P would just make an awkward separation of community and elitism between subscribed members/Free to plays... Microtransaction that provide an unfair advantage also would kill this game... cosmetic changes like hats would be fine as long its handled right.
