Game randomly goes Not Responding

So, at the most random times (happens more often when a large group warps on grid, or new waves of rats spawn in an incursion site) my game will suddenly go not responding. I haven't found anything that happens to make this happen

AMD FX-6100 Six core, 3.3 GHz
8gb of ram
GTX 660 Superclocked 2GB
Windows 7 64-bit


Anyway to stop this from happening? I've tried every combination of graphics settings, so it doesn't seem to be that.

EDIT: Also, I have all the latest drivers. This was also happening before and after the recent release of the NVIDIA drivers.
