Selectively enable/disable "Auto Target Back"

So nowadays it seems like the Auto Target Back feature is basically in the same league as CISPA charges -- if you get caught with it on by a corpie or while on a fleet you'll be mocked relentlessly. I get the feeling that we could fix that without a ton of work. I propose we be given the ability to selectively enable or disable the Auto Target Back feature on either different classes of ships (i.e. Logistics), or -- more feasibly -- corporation/fleet members. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to target back rats without worrying about accidentally firing on your spider tanking buddy, or wartargets without accidentally exploding your logis?Smile

Situational Awareness ought to (it does by the way) obviate any need for the auto target back feature

I'm right behind you

But the base feature itself already exists, nulling this argument.

I don't think people quite understand how to leverage current assets. The feature already exists, why not make it actually useful with some very small additions. Probably more work to take it out. I also think people hate to automate tedious things (Like all the bitching about the new probing being to easy). Should a game be tedious? Having challenging things to do is different then having tedious things to do.

+1 for this idea. I can definitely see it used if it is fixed.

Improving on features that already exist to make them useful (or just plain not suck) is basically CCPs philosophy at this point.

You really think someone would do that? Just log into EvE and tell lies?
