I've flown around 200-250 jumps the last few days, and took over 100 screencaps. I've posted commentary, feedback and my 20 favorite pics from the journey on my blog, as well as a sceencap from Genesis region showing what I think of as the "tiling bug" for distant nebulae.

TLDR: Nice work overall, a few nitpicks and future suggestions.

Very nice. Thanks for the write-up. Can't wait to see them on Tranq.

This is magnificent. The Jovian nebulae looks like the gate to heaven.

Amazing stuff...

Hey I have a question and rather than start a new thread I figure this would be a good place to ask. I was flying around null last night and in some of the darker systems there is a "Milky Way" type band across the sky. Is this a specific nebula that we can get closer to? Or is it just a backdrop to make the dark starry sky more interesting? It is very pretty.

Also despite my concerns on some ships being too dark on my monitor I have to say that anyone worried that null and low sec are going to be too dark and bland I wouldn't worry too much about it. At least on the western edge of the map where I was exploring it was just as bright and beautiful as some of the high sec space.

While I haven't travelled the entire cluster yet, the "spiral arm" seems to indicate the edges of New Eden. It generally stretches out on either side of a nullsec nebula, never an empire one. I saw it most prominently with Aridia.

Could you please post a screenshot of that spiral arm? Ty

Sure. You can clearly see it in this shot as a thin band of stars, intersecting here with the Aridia nebula.

I have some clearer shots of it more or less in the same region of space as you were.

In Solitude

In Syndicate

And just throwing in this shot of the Cloud Ring and a planet because it shows off the cool new lighting effects on the bottom and side of a Vexor

I guess maybe it is meant to indicate the galaxy that the game is set in and is most visible in the darkest parts of space. Pretty neat. My pictures are both pretty close up but it stretches across the screen and even goes behind nebula in some cases.
