Okay, so I've seen all the threads about Tengu's, Drakes, Domi's, etc. long enough for my eyeballs to roll into the back of my head and my tongue to try and swallow itself in a vain attempt by my brain to suffocate me. We all know the go-to ships. Skim a few pages of this forum, and you'll quickly figure that out.

So, I thought I would start a thread to see what people's favorite underrated ship setups are. What sorts of atypical ships/fits have you used to relatively good/surprising effect?

I'm leaving this open for all sorts of uses: PVE, PVP, gang, solo, etc. to see what's out there. These might not be the best ships to use for any situation, nor may they be the swiss army knife of the EVE universe, but I think seeing something apart from "OMG Tengu" might be fun.

Thoughts?

Coercer with a scrambler. For this to work, you create a shiny new toon, spend about 2 weeks training up gunnery and support stuff and then head to the nearest null sec pipe. You're guaranteed to find a few overzealous inty pilots who enter scram range and promptly get vaporized. Fit's are variable but I tend to go for a tanky setup since it may take a minute for them to get the brilliant idea of going point blank with you. Also very effective in frigate plex's by simply parking yourself on the warp in.

Crystal Moa/Ferox is a lot of fun if you're looking scary in that Cyclone. :)

Imicus. used as the start of drone boat chain:
imicus-vexor-myrm-domi.

has room for 3 light drones. equiped one gun, and ab, an eanm (or dc), and ran lvl 1 combat missions, practicing kiting and drone
management. I claim not original idea, found this in a forum thread yrs ago.

Dual web Hawk, Battle Buzzard, Dual Prop Hookbill, Dual Web Harpy, Armor Firetail and Armor Kestrel/Crow are my favourites

Of course the XL shield boosting celestis is pretty damn awesome

Seconding the dual web harpy and armor firetail, Celestis with shield buffer is also a beast, dual-rep rifter (or any other frig) is a ton of fun.

Hyperion is the most underrated Gallente mission-ship.
Everyone seems to think the Mega is better.
I can't tell you how many times I've read "Use the Mega, it's better." here or over in BC.
Every-time some newer pilot gets all-excited about thier shiny new Hype, and posts a less-than-perfect fit, all the "genius" veterans imediately tell the to use the Mega. Eventually, you hear that enough and start to believe it. When I first got the skills/isk to fly a BS, I went with the Mega because of this. After a while I kept looking at the Hype thinking "This thing just seems so much better".
I tried-it, and it wasn't that great, almost gave-up and went-back to my Mega.
Then I realized I was just fitting-it wrong. Too-much tank, too-much cap, and no Tracking Computers.
Once I fit it right, way faster mission-times, and deff better than the Mega.

Here's the T1 guns:

Here's the T2 guns:
Memphis T2 Guns

If they keep the proposed changes for rails in the new expansion, these will both fit without the ACR rig. So you will be able to fit something-else in there (another CCC or a Nano-pump).
DPS on the T2 fit should be 929 after the buff (885 @ 60km) and that's with reg Antimatter!!

If you use CN Anti, DPS is over 1000

Daredevil for PvP

Fit is
High - 2 Light Neutron Blasters T2

Med - Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I (Can be a Federation Navy Stasis Webifier)
- Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler (Can be Domination Warp Scrambler)
- Coreli C-type 1MN Afterburner

Low - Damage Control T2
- Centii C-type Adaptive Nano Plating
- 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates
- Navy Micro Auxiliary Power Core

Rig - Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
- Small Ancillary Current Router I
- Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

It still hits very hard, damage modifier is over 20, and has over 8000 EHP, goes around 1400 m/s. You can fit it with a Microwarp drive but if you get scrambled you have little chance of getting away. One on one against another frig if you fly it right you will 99% win, I have also beat Thrashers and a Sabre in this fit. I have 20 deaths with DDs and over 130 kills with them. And with the new winter patch the DD will be even more deadly of a ship. Hope I helped.

Stupid people should suffer, I'm OK with that.

Battle helios.

2 small railguns, double webs, scram, TD, afterburner. It can take on most close-range frigates and kite them at 6-7km while disrupting their guns to much less than that.

Arby is very under rated. I use it as a cheap remote sebo toon on gate gangs - give it a 1600mm tank and 3 remote sebos to get insta locks for any ally. Meanwhile your warrior 2s are damage boosted and assisting the ally. Lots of whorage.

Nuet rokh. Everyone thinks it's blaster fit and keeps range. Not 25km range though Twisted
