Are you curious about what kind of cheating goes on in Eve?

Here's a post from a guy who lists ten of his favorite client-side injection cheats.

There certainly seem to be some people playing the game on the 'easy' difficulty.

Edit: unsurprisingly for a CCP product, these new forums don't work properly. Either middle-click the link to open in another tab or copy/paste the URL to go directly to the appropriate post.

We distinguish the excellent man from the common man by saying that the former is the one who makes great demands upon himself, and the latter who makes no demands on himself.

Well, this deserves a bump, at the least. I find the complete lack of responses disturbing.

Look, it's not like many of us haven't know this was going on for some time, probably a long time. Despite that, and taking into account the complete lack of transparency CCP has shown with their whole war on botting and RMTing, it is a safe assumption that CCP has totally lost control of their own game.

Faced with that situation, would be more or less likely that a gaming company would 'shut it down' until code changes could be made in order to prevent most of this cheating, or that they would pay lip service to the problem in order to continue the cash machine for as long as possible? I think we all have to take a long, hard look at this game we all have loved and determine a personal point at which time we come to the conclusion that we are paying, not to win, but to lose.

If you PvP against another who has modded their client, is it realistic to think that you can win, your skills versus their skillsPLUS?
If you make your isk in the markets, is it realistic to think that you can best a player running a modified client?

For any given activity in Eve, is it realistic to think that you can play on par with someone who has modified their client, either by injecting scripts or running some automation?

I don't really care about the moralistic or ethical issues involved here. In many ways, CCP has brought this on themselves. However, there will always be a majority of players who cannot compete because they do not have, or have access to, client modifications that enhance gamplay for others.

- ShipSpinner (gives me old station environment)

my favorite

edit: of course I don't use that cheat (python injections get you permabans when found out) and don't advocate the use of it.
But I find it hilarious that CCP tells us lies about it being technically impossible to keep the old station environment when apparently every cheater can just switch it back on.

WSAD flight controls, the old station environment, distance estimation on Dscan, ratting bots, local change alerts, and updated slidebar UI for orbit/keep at range.
