As title.

Ive salavged many T2 wrecks of small and medium size since the expansion and i have got utter crap most times.

Ive yet to get one good piece of salvage more than a million isk.

Did you break something ccp or was it on purpose?

Sorry that you're not getting 5 mil ISK of salvage from a once 10 mil ISK ship.

I actually went ahead and tried it out on SiSi.
Tried it with about 20 Marauders and also about 20 Vindicators, no luck salvaging them for anything really nice.

So for killing a 200m+ t2 ship we are meant to get less than t1 wrecks if we salvage it....

.....because the good intact salvage is now all in exploration?

Thats a kick in the balls, anyway good to know.

I wont be doing any NPC exploration for the parts i no longer get from killing players, just wondering why nothing was dropping. I shall just stop salvaging, thanks for reply's.

It should all still drop from salvaged wrecks, but it's just worth a lot less because there's so much of it coming to market from exploration. If they have removed t2 salvage from wrecks, then that's news to me, and would be interested in seeing where that's been mentioned (dev blog/patch notes.)

Correlation does not imply causation, they didn't lower regular salvaging.

salvaging t2 has always been crap, that's the main reason why most t2 rigs were absurdly overpriced, now that a lot of salvage is coming in from exploration then prices will drop, seeing as they didn't increase the salvage off player ships, then the value for each salvage attempt has gone down a lot.

if the new design direction is not to have T2 salvage as a rare commodity anymore, then they need to increase salvage from regular ships.

You would think so wouldn't you?

How many rolls of a dice do you have to do before you can reliably say there are only 6 out comes?

Ive salvaged over 20 medium t2 wrecks and probably more small ones and have not got any of the 'good' intact salvage, just a few worthless ones and plenty of metal scraps.

Ive got pretty bad luck with eve and its RNG overall, but after expansion its so bad that theres really no point trying to - i was simply asking if this is just a particularly bad spell of luck which i always assume first or if t2 wreck drops have been reduced to force the exploration side of things.

When you roll a dice same a number of times every day, you notice when the out comes are repeatedly '1', pretty quickly.

I don't know if the drop rate has been reduced but maybe it should be. The lower demand for Large T2 rigs have hurt industrialists involved in rig production, quite a lot.

Not exploration, building.

T2 ship changes will be coming next, and it's clear that CCP wants them to be quite expensive to use. If folks can salvage well, it won't be.

...and you think to yourself, "Man, that's a pretty long streak of ones. Someone must've snuck in and rigged my dice when I wasn't looking."

I salvaged a dead Harpy after the patch and got 3 bits of T2 salvage. I didn't check the value, but it definitely still drops.

Indeed.
There is a clearly a movement within CCP to close the gap significantly between T1, T2, and T3 ships.
We are looking at a major nerf of the T3 lines (any time a goon csm member suggests T3's are OP, it is over for that ship), and some HAC's are inferior to their T1 versions.

While I grasp the idea that CCP wants to make the game more palatable to the new players, why CCP is engaging in this "skillacide" (why bother getting T2 ships skills when the T1 version is better) I will never understand.

CCP has repeatedly stated that t2 ships will be involved in the rebalancing. They simply selected an order that provides most benefit to the most people first. Frigates can be used by the largest majority ot players, hence they were first. The same is true if t2 ships. CCP knows they need work, it's just after the t1 were done. So why not wait until the balancing is finished before declaring that CCP us committing skillacide.

Because some people realize that waiting until 2019 before commenting on it isn't reasonable.

Because it's Dinsdale, and tinfoil ass-hattery doesn't work as well after the fact.

It's not worth debating with him, his mind is set and the hat firmly in place. Some Goon somewhere kicked his puppy and he's quite upset that CCP Soundwave is/was a Goon.

Define “reliably”.
Standard sample sizes for the 95% and 99% levels sit in the several thousands range. Preferably, you need infinite.

…so a far too tiny a sample to say anything. You're off by at least two orders of magnitude.

Between the two standard explanations — people getting a streak of bad drops after a patch and connecting it to the patch and to there being some undisclosed change in drop tables and -rates (something that happens once or twice after every patch because it's neat pattern for the brain to put together), and people simply getting a bad rolls (which happens every day, but is random and therefore completely antithetical to what the brain wants to detect) — the second is by far the most likely one. What we have here is just the standard post-patch Type-II gambler's fallacy.
