Well its by a busy FW system and you get a lot of solo frigs dessies and cruisers running thru the gates. so yea camp gates

You won't lock fast enough to point solo frigates so I would tend to let them go.

For smaller stuff I'd tend to use the 425mm guns, tracking modules and damage mods in the lows 1 or maybe 2 webs and you'll need at least a bit of a buffer and in the neighbourhood of 500dps on active tank in order to hold out on your target and tank the gate guns. Not sure if a large or XL ASB will do that for you. you'll have to play around with it.

Also, dessies are kind of fast for a loki to keep up with so you absolutely postively need decent webbing or it's a non starter.

Frankly, you'd have more luck sitting off the gate in a tornado and just alpha-ing small stuff.

I would advise you choose your targets wisely. I have seen a Hawk take a Loki to structure before the Loki's friends showed up.

Irrelevent... sounds like the mighty Loki was seconds from getting pwn'd by a lowly AF... :)

Thanks for replies. I would be playing it safe and i do have an alt that would sit on other side of gate scouting and the corp im in is pretty active.

ive encounted a gate camp before with 2 legions and they insta locked my shuttle.. but its possible i guess that the other legion was boosting the others scan res.

ive encounted more gate camps with legions then lokis, maybe ill look for a solid legion fit they seem rather popular in low sec these days. Or i might just keep a bounce and when scout sees someone come to gate warp to within range and hopfuly alpha them :) That would be the cheapest option.

That's what I often say to dudes asking me tips about some T3's.

If you're not comfortable doing whatever hunting type with an SFI/Vagabond or even Cynabal, fitting them and make kills with, do not jump in to a T3 because those are not pownmachines on their own.

Yet I still see hilarious KM's of T3's gank, Tengus with 100MN without point or web, armor lokis without at least 1web (hell the fking sub has a web bonus, idiots!!), legions with double cap injector web but no point and so on.

1st rule first

If you want to pvp solo, you WANT a long point for start and web, scram depending on a lot of small stuff including piloting skills, but any fit without the mandatory web/point fits is a no go on my books, and they will get killed faster they can have decent kills.

If you don't feel comfortable playing in an SFI/Vagabond/Cynabal, you don't jump in to a T3, the ship alone will not di the job for you.

If you don't feel comfortable spewing missiles with a caracal or nano drake, you don't jump in to a Tengu

If you dont feel comfortable pewpewing with a navy omen or a zealot you don't jump in to a Legion

If you don't feel comfortable loosing suicide raxes and zipping all around in vigilants, you don't take any sort of Proteus out

New guys to T3's need to understand that so much naysaying about T3's is completely biased, some got their tràlàlà touch by a good T3 pilot and thought they could do the same, they got killed and don't understand why
Other are simply following the T3 hate bandwagon while they know nothing about those.
Many are just jumping on an economical target and what a juicy one.

Just don't, if you don't feel already comfortable or are experienced enough with cruiser/bc gang/fleet/solo work just don't. You'll be very disappointed and waste a lot of time for deceptions.
