Hello space friends,

I encourage you all to do more of the former and less of the latter. Then you might actually influence the causes you so verbosely "champion," through your NeoCom.

Ms. Nairn,

I'm happy to educate you that, in fact, discussion is a type of action.

Although I don't care about a Goon's opinion on... well, anything really, I'd point out that many of us are indeed quite active in the causes that we advocate for. A simple check of records will confirm this.

Thanks for your "concern". You may now return to your regularly scheduled capital ship blob and await further instructions from your overlords.

Staying silent on a matter is inaction. Discussing a topic openly is action. I would say that if you have specific grievances as to how individuals deal with their specific causes the best course would be to speak with them directly instead of making vague statements and expecting change.

Noted. I might point out that by not addressing specific cases individually and in private you are perhaps working against your own cause here. A more diplomatic and perhaps more inclusive statement would be:

If you wish to be an agent of change, you must take action.

Perhaps you should follow this up with some explanation, non? What does action mean to you Lyris Nairn? How, in your mind, does discussion of a topic not constitute action? Are there specific examples that you could give of when discussion should end and when your definition of action should begin?

Given your signature, and the racial antipathy suffered by the Matari, this statement is wonderfully ironic.

In all honesty, I do not expect change. IGS has been full of patriotic, zealous individuals since its inception. There is a lot of talk about things that everyone is very passionate about, and yet what happens? Nothing changes on the star charts. I see no thrones of skulls, no mountains of spoils - just a lot of chest-beating, flag-waving, and gusto.

Diplomacy is a good option. It causes things to happen. There is evidence of that within the spatial geography of current affairs: alliances have changed their allegiances, and entire regions of space have been burned to the ground, as a result of diplomatic mishap or success. I have yet to see successful diplomacy in this channel: just a bunch of jingoism and propaganda.

What does action mean to me?

It means being right by force of arms, and having something to show for it. It means changes in a star map, skulls for the skull throne, mountains of spoils, and so on. It means things happening against resistance. It does not mean words about things outside of one's hands and which remain the same after those words have been said.

That is your definition. It is not shared by everyone.

I care about more than what I can take from others or testing my strength against another on the battlefield. I will fight to defend myself, or to enact change that requires your definition of "action". It is not the end all and be all of my personal existence.

There are those who measure their worth by what they have, what they take, and what they force upon others. I like to think that we are capable of being more. So I will continue to debate here. I will continue to speak my mind. I will share my opinions.

I may not change the world, but if I help awaken some curiosity or set someone on a path to greater self awareness, I think it is worth it.

Stupendous! Alizabeth probably pays no attention to us anymore, and so this seems like a divine opportunity. Although it's not, you know "action, action," it is at least kind-of-sort-of action...

If I paid the 300 Million ISK membership fee, would your organization admit former Executor Heth to its ranks?

I cannot speak with certainty for the directorate, but I would bribe them to deny his admittance.

Not only do I have complete confidence in your ability to outbid me, I rather suspect the directorate will never hear of the request at all absent a Trusted Emissary.

I concede that the suggestion is unorthodox, but might there be any room for convincing you of the notion's merits?

Not one.

I supported Heth for the duration of his office, and now I condemn him as the CEP has condemned him.

Many see that I am in GoonSwarm, and forget that I am Caldari. A shame to see that you are one of them.

You do not see any circumstances under which the former Executor's membership in GoonSwarm would benefit the State?

To be perfectly blunt, the track record of Goonswarm and its ability to circumvent, or prevail in spite of, CONCORD and the Caldari Navy, does not bode well for any eventuality in which Heth is offered the protection of Goonswarm and the CFC.

For those of us looking for action, would it be terribly out of line to call up the Sky Captain of Our Hearts?

Today you'll own a station and tommorrow someone else will own it. Today you'll own a moon and tommorrow someone else will own it.

What does that say about the importance of anybody's politics, including yours.

If you're not absolutely thrilled at the fact that you're a capsuleer, surrounded by stars, beauty, wealth, intrigue, immortality, hot lasers and smouldering shell casings, regardless of which blob you happen to be a member of (or no blob at all) then you should probably get rid of your capsuleer implants and go live a life that's personally meaningful to you.

If your life as a "Goon of action, not words" is meaningful to you, then you should be out shooting at a POS or something, rather than sitting here typing out "hurrr durrr me like sov."

I agree.

A little less conversation, a little more action. All this aggravation doesn't bring satisfaction to me. A little more bite and a little less bark. A little less smoke and a little more spark.

Close your mouth and open your heart - that's what satisfies me.
