So stupid but so much fun. 48 jumps.

So, being kinda new and learning the game I decided to join a corp and try my hand at living in nullsec. I was having fun, chatting with my corp and asking quesitons.

I started to notice that, at least our base of operations, the market was lacking in my newbie gear. So, I decided to clone back to highsec, buy/pickup some stuff and haul it back to lowsec. The corp had mentioned the jump freighter as an option to us newbro's but being an impatient noob I didn't listen.

So I go clone back to highsec, grab my stuff, throw it in a Catalyst with extra cargo space and then promptly flew back to lowsec.

48 jumps. I got targeted once I think, went afk for half of the trip (running after my two year old) but I made it out of blind luck.

I don't think I want to do that again, but it was fun while it lasted, was a bit hair-raising at times but all in all, was a bit stressful. :).

Think I'll use the JF next time.

That being said, I know I can't be the only one that has done or attempted a ton of jumps. Whats the most you've jumped?

I did one from stain to sinq to gehi, i think it was a total of 120ish jumps mostly in lowsec because i was -7 when i did it.

Yet another solid argument for the fulltime implementation of AP0.

Solo roaming one day, started picking random hotspots to go to. ended up taking a tour of 7 or 8 different regions of nulsec. no idea how many jumps it was there but it was 87 back... Self destruct was magical.

It was a hack used by people to make the auto pilot warp to 0 on the gate for insatnt jump inseatf of a few KM away thus removing the slowboating to gate time.

I used to love roaming and you've got me waxing sentimental about it -- though it's a bit different now.

I never minded traveling far as I went pirate rather quickly after joining the game and it was largely a necessity.

And besides PvP, I used to run from Ami to A2V6-6 to rat (solo or with 1-3 pilots). Dotlan says that's 145 jumps. (user error see below). That trip improved many survival skills -- it could be a tad hostile.

As well, I also used to take various womhole exits on a whim. One time, I thought the Drone Region would be a good idea (back when it was Russian space).

That trip was mostly uneventful with a few entertaining local chats involving Google Translate and some pretty nasty bubble camps closer to civilization. I was determined to fly rather than self-destruct though -- and I made it. I'm not sure how many jumps it was, other than 'a lot.' :)

What's fun is being in a small gang or mid-sized fleet and having enough fun you don't really notice you've made over 100 jumps. Then, yes, self destruct is kind of nice once you're done.

Nothing in the game is 145 jumps, unless you're avoiding half the map....Shocked

Oh, I derped Dotlan. I didn't think it was that long one-way-- it just felt it at times.

EDIT: There we go.. http://evemaps.dotlan.net/route/3:Ami:A2V6-6 -- that wasn't my exact route though. Sounds more in the ballpark, though -- closer to 75 -- (I flew part of the route twice and I flew back, though).

I didn't self destruct as I often had a faction bauble or two (and my trusty Purifier). And since I was still newish that was a big deal, even if not terribly smart to travel with.

This shouldnt be confused with a "Covert Nullified T3s travel in Null too easy' thread...because there are like 500mil of those.

A bit more than 80 with T2 BPCs BPO's and DED modules in an Ity 3 fitted with a mwd and prototype cloak, the longest jump ever was the one with I don't know exactly but about 150km all around the gate was a bubble, stressful and finally the only gate we're I was sure being caught nothing hapened, no one, zero, nada, nicht, nothing.

Landing on my toons home system saw a neutral in local, "no worries, just another cloak ***", align and oups cloak Sabre.
Could get safe to station because that Sabre pilot was really lazy but I'll always remember those jumps.

My longest jump, well, what felt like my longest jump, was only one jump. The first time I got brave enough to jump into 0.0 from low sec. I was seriously scared, heart pumping, all that stuff. Felt like it took hours to jump, and then fly back to the gate to get the hell out of 0.0 cause I was being a chicken. I doubt you get many games that can actually affect you that much physically.

Avoid systems with recent pod killing needs to be nerfed.

Also, engaging a lone catalyst is usually (a) not worth it, (b) it's a scout, let it through and catch the real fish (c) Cyno Bait (d) gives away unnecessary intel.

If you really want to know fast you can attract attention, fly a faction BS on autopilot through that route. Twisted
