Launcher is stuck in offline mode

When I do a restart the client fails to load. There's a problem with the SSL3 at the CDN site.

I deleted everything and reinstalled. When i depressed the exe icon the launcher goes into an update and deletes a bunch of files.

The repair client tool reinstall's all of the deleted files that the launcher updater deleted; If I try to get in via the normal icon, the launcher does another update and deletes those same files again. The launcher fails because it's looking for the files it just deleted.

I think this proves what I've been saying, the Launcher is evil and possessed by demons

Seriously though you said, "I am able to get into the game via the EXE file in the bin folder"
That's very interesting.
Why would THAT work? ?!?!
Oh and it doesn't work for me, gives me an "incompatible protocol connection refused"

The launcher fails to download the info file from https://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt because it is unable to verify the SSL certificate. Are you running under some sort of proxy? One thing you could try is downloading that file manually and put it in the cache folder (EVE\launcher\cache).

hey thank you!
Well, i just tried that.
It has stopped with the protocol error, and to my knowledge I'm not running any proxy. I've never understood proxy's.

All i get now is launcher is in offline mode. i can log onto account management. I can also play other games just fine. There have been no changes to my system since this all started.

BUT if I try using the bin file Eve.exe I get the protocol error still.

I'm not an IT specialist!
I just want to play online games.

OK I don't give up easy. Now I'm to the point where I could log in this account.
When I try to log in my other account that has almost a year left on the subscription I get "The authentication token provided by the launcher is of an invalid format. Please try again or contact EVE customer support."

Since I normally deal with SSL sites somehow the Check Secure Sites was activated inside of my Kapersky AV. It took me awhile to track that setting down and deactivate it. Once deactivated I was able to log in normally.

Which still brings up the problem of your SSL certificate.

My stuck too, AND i cannot enter to any of CCP sites (eveonline.com, ccpgames.com etc) with any browser, as if i didn have internet connection. I am here with proxy for now, but i doubt to it shall work with the game client...

That happens in a monday 09-th downtime.

Looks like something is terribly wrong with your firewall. Act quickly, my vacation is wasting...

@eric textme you are annoying stop it please.

On another note. I am having the same issue in the office. we are allowed to play games but the launcher is stuck in offline mode aswell.

We are running a proxy.

I tried to download the file as mentioned above but I still can not start the game. Any further ideas?

I'm also behind a proxy and tried to download the file manually and move it to the cache folder. No luck as well and launcher is still showing 'Offlne Mode'.

while we can blame the form, no way to blame the root cause of his reaction.

launchers are BAD programming, they just bring more issue than they bring answers.

and seriously, this SSL certificat issue....really?

Did you guys by any chance pin the launcher to the Windows taskbar? We've discovered an issue yesterday where the launcher's self-updating mechanism would fail if you had pinned the launcher to the windows taskbar from a running launcher process.

If this is the case for you, try starting from the start menu instead of from the taskbar. If you want to have the taskbar shortcut, a work-around would be to pin the start menu entry to the taskbar, as that sets all the environmental variables correctly. We are working on a solution to the problem, but since this is something that requires changes to more than just the launcher itself this may take a while to get done.

Yes mine was pinned, i unpinned and tried the launcher from start menu and still no go. i found an application in the launcher/cache/ directory called updater. ran that and now the launcher is fine.

I have recently ran into this issue and felt it more appropriate to post here than a new thread. Repair tool, the file linked in this thread, and unpinning and using the application in the CCP folder. No matter what happens it continues to display in offline mode. This happened right after successfully using and logging into EVE just an hour prior. Some steps I have done:

1. Disabled Firewall (though it has exemption for EVE Online)
2. Double checked that I do not have any proxies
3. Confirmed internet connection both via wireless and my ethernet connection

I did reinstall EVE recently (had to reinstall my OS), roughly three days before the issue began. I have no problems using other games which use self-patching. Here is a pastebin of my logs from today (i attempted to run it three or four times): http://pastebin.com/AQ5znjF2

Seems to fail a query, but I am not a technician nor do I know the finer details of how these things work Lol

This started on the 12th of this month and has continued through now. Launching EVE in the bin file works just fine but I am concerned of when a new patch comes out.

I just did a fresh install yesterday, and I also had to do this. Windows 8 laptop, application shortcut was not pinned. Until I found this thread, I was also having to use the exe file in bin.
