Not sure if this I right forum to post, but here it goes.

I'm looking for advice on a new computer that will play eve fairly well and perform nicely with multiple clients.

I currently have a dinosaur of an iMac which at minimal settings freezes up constantly and lags often.

I've never owned a PC before but am willing to switch over. I considered getting windows for this system and simply running bootcamp but I've been wanting to get a better computer for a while anyway. I need ideas and advice on where to start so I don't walk into the store with no idea what I'm doing. I would prefer a laptop but am not against a desktop. I don't plan on using much for anything other than the Internet and occasional word document. It will be my primary gaming system.

Just need some ideas to get me started.

Thanks in advance.

Never buy the minimum spec.

Laptops in general are not good for gaming. Most don't have graphics cards at all (they use integrated graphics) which does limit how useful they can be. Besides that the heat generated from playing games (even EVE) on a laptop usually decreases the life of the parts inside.

The specs for Eve are pretty low, but cheap laptops are not going to run Eve particularly well. You will end up compromising on graphics quality, number of clients etc. If you have to use a laptop ( and I do ) then be prepared to pay a premium for a custom gaming platform with a decent graphics card.
