Wing Command, Squad Boosting, Mining

Something confusing me here. I have a Rorqual pilot who is 5 Mining Foreman, 5 Mining Director, 5 Leadership, 4 Wing Command. As far as I understand it, that means he can create 5 squads. Also, as far as I know, in order for squads to get wing commander's bonus (he's also fleet booster), each squad needs a squad commander.

So, if I have 3 chars, the above Rorqual pilot who's wing commander, and then two others who are squad commanders, both with Leadership 5, both squads should get the bonus, right? Here's the setup:

Fleet Commander (empty)
Wing 1 (Commander X, Rorqual Pilot, Fleet Booster)
Squad 1 (Commander Y)
Member
Member
Member
Squad 2 (Commander Z)
Member
Member
Member

Now, Squad 1 is getting the bonus from the Rorqual pilot. However squad 2 isn't, even though as far as I can see both Commander Y and Commander Z have the same skills.

What have I forgotten to do here?

That looks right to me. Are all the members of Squad 2 in the same system as the rorqual pilot? (I think that atleast 2 members, one of which is the squad leader need to be in that system)

Everything looks correct.

Try this: reverse the pilots Y and Z and see how the bonus changes. If it follows Y then Z has something skilled incorrectly, probably.

shouldn't wing commander be wing booster instead of fleet booster?

Well, that's odd. Relogged, moved one to commander, put one underneath him and bingo, we've all got the bonus again.

Yea, that's what I meant. I'm wing booster. Also realised that whenever squad commander docks, the squad boost drops. Doh!

It all makes sense now.
