Punished for a can

Friend has a high sec (.6) POS, anonymous person anchored a small secure can in front of said POS - friend does not like space junk - attempts to blow up can gets concorded. Was telling me this story and asking advice about overcoming this.

Told him I wasn't too sure (trading alt) so thought I would bring it here for you reprobates to answer.
Besides war-deccing - anything else he can do about it?

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

Have your friend convo the litter lout and offer to house the can inside the pos shields.

While he is at it, private convo me with the system and moon number, together with said shield password and I will arrange the cans into a neat picture of a beer truck for him.

No charge.

This is one of those moments when OCD gets dangerous.
This sounds like an excellent way to get wardecs, concord action, and ransom.

Has anyone anchored a lot of cans around POS's for these reasons yet?

I've never tried... can you shoot the cans manually with the pos guns?

No, it doesn't let you aggress anything that you wouldn't normally be able to attack in highsec. You would need to wardec the can owner.

I've shot wrecks with POS guns before, so I assume a GCC would be shootable if the wardec was in place. This was at a WH pos, though, so wouldn't constitute a test of that mechanics chain.

I would have to take my shoes of to count the number of times my friend or I have anchored a can in space simply labeled:

"this can is mocking you".

The pilot I learned this trick from shared with me that his doing this almost started a war.

Does doing this affect the placement of other POS structures? This sounds like a fun way to make someone cry if they can't anchor any other structures etc?

To the OP I think you should just contact the owner and get them to remove the can, or unanchor the tower.

you have to guess the password of the can, u cant use a module or anything

Many thanks for your replies, I have directed my friend to this thread and maybe that will give him/her some ideas on what to do. I would personally like to thank Dilligafmofo for his ingenious plan of making a beer truck out of a single can. That might be worth paying to see

At the end of the day, it seems the only way to get rid of space junk in .5 systems and above is a war-dec.

If you anchored a can near to a Tower that is not currently online, will the owner be able to online the Tower?

If the character is in a player corporation you can dec that corporation to shoot the can.

If you think you can guess the password you can 'hack' it.

You can ask them to remove it.

If they have just put it there for lulz and to annoy you with no other intention then you can petition for it's removal.
