Launcher Won't Launch My Game

I don't know where else to put this. I'm a semi-veteran (or scrub) of the game, yet I don't even know where it should go - so if this is the right forum... punch me in the face.

The launcher won't launch my game, which is what I figured it's supposed to do.

So... it's not doing that, I guess?

It's trying to verify, but it doesn't load the verification. It's firmly stuck at 0%. This has been going on since yesterday, and Devs haven't acknowledged it??? It can't just be my computer (I use windows XP home edition).

EDIT: Exe won't work due to needing to update through the launcher. Repair tool errors.

EDIT #2: And now, there's an archive extraction failure whenever I try to reinstall.

try to laucnh the repair tool, let him do his job, then go to the ccp/eve/bin/ and launch eve client (bypass the launcher)

Do you have Spybot installed or any other sort of anti malware or proxy software that might be interfering? Spybot has been known to cause issues because of some proxy option. See https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=243234

the launcher is telling me i have to quit eve.exe for it to install an update....unless the launcher is eve.exe i have no idea what it is talking about :P

update your launcher maybe, the last one is 2.1.559197

What version of the launcher do you have (it's displayed in the very top left)? What operating system are you using?

I too have had this problem - Windows 7 client - launcher issues - text at bottom of launcher screen stuck saying "Updating Launcher". Cache clearing had no effect. Ended up using the above link and reinstalling the launcher. It's currently validating client, so hopefully will work :)

I'm using S&D free version, which I cannot locate the settings for in order to disable the proxy (assuming it uses one for updates).

What if I'm using Avast for antivirus?

The troubles with eve coincided more with installing S&D though.

Did you try disabling/uninstalling Spybot?

I'm having the same issue, no spyware or malware-bytes or anything of the sort. Disabled my firewall and virus protection and tried both downgrading the launcher and updating to a new version and over-righting the current version with the most recent patch downloaded from the site and installed via exe. The launcher starts and logs me in, but when i try to play it just gets stuck on "launching" and will start a process in task manager but no client will actually appear.

So you get a exefile.exe process that starts up, but no client appears? Are you able to launch the exefile.exe manually from within the bin folder and play the game?

Yes, and the same thing is occuring when i launch from the bin exe, have tried both launching normally from the exe and admin mode even though i have UAC to off. I have also repaired the client with no success

Any info on what i should try to fix this? Ive done everything short of reinstalling eve at this point that has come to mind. It was working fine Tuesday night, but then mystically didnt work Wednesday evening.

The only things i had done between that time software change was installing ARMA3 on steam which installed a DirectX but it would have been either a more up to date version then what i had installed or wouldnt have overwritten the existing copy if it was an older version.
Besides that just all i had done was update world of tanks and play a few rounds of that waiting around for a fleet in eve to form, which i when i figured out i couldnt access my client once launched.

Is there a proxy out there that does all things spybot S&D does, that doesn't mess with eve? This sounds like a problem CCP needs to solve.

For some reason the launcher takes like a minute to appear after I have double clicked the shortcut to open it.

Do anyone have a link to download the new launcher? With the update today it doesn't start anymore. I see the small EVE Launcher update window (with the bar and remaining time of download: http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/7977/aofs.jpg) and after the download nothing happens. I had it before but with the direkt download of the full updated launcher it worked.
