My EVE

I was in my JF getting ready to make a jump, Everything was in place for the jump So I start spooling up the jump drive, Everything seems to be nominal when it makes the jump.

Except that I notice that I haven't actually jumped anywhere, I was still in the exact same system, in the exact same spot as before the jump. everything was still reading as nominal.

I fired up the jump drive again, it spooled up and the same thing happened.

The moment after the jump drive came to a shuddering halt I got an electromagnetic disturbance warning in the cargo hold. I quickly pull up the cargo bay camera feeds.

"Do not jump again" was written on the cargo bay wall in what looked like nanite paste. The metal around the letters was starting to peel and droop, Indicative of nanite paste exposure.

I dock up for some diagnostics.

people are acting strange inside of the station. I went to get some food. But they were only serving rotten, moldy and putrid food.

a pod was in the hallway, it was bent and broken pod goo leaking out, its occupant still inside, from the sound of it the pilot was thrashing around inside of the pod as if he was having a seizure. from time to time he would mutter "I.....feel fine....i feel fine." or "un....undock"

down the hallway an engineer was "working" on a conduit. he was trying to plug his implants into the station's power grid.

Further along wasn't much better people were lying face down while 3 security officers paced around them.

"STAY ASLEEP" they would say whenever they saw someone move

"ITS TIME TO BE SLEEPING RIGHT NOW" they said.

I walked past the guards quickly, they lost interest in me nearly instantly.

There were people who had their limbs replaced with random objects.

one person had a coat rack for a leg.

another had their fingers replaced with wires.

and another who got his head replaced by a security camera.

the camera man was standing perfectly still, camera swiveling on his neck as he watched the others. When he saw me he swiveled and focused on me. the green light around his lens turned red.

I woke up again and I was back in my jump freighter, Camera man sitting next to me. Staring at me. Lens still red.

Weirdo.

would almost read again.
