Super caps to loose the ability to log off

Super caps would not log off

The idea is to allow players to lock their titans so that 1 of 2 things can happen:

1. They lock it for the character and only the character can get back into it when they jettison from it
2. They lock it for the corporation/ alliance and only those with authorization to in the corporation and/or head corporation can enter/ lock/ unlock the titan

I'd also like to introduce a component for the pos called a docking port:

Supers would be able to dock with a bay which could deal with a maximum of two that would constantly give the titan omni 80% shields and armor resists with 50% hull resisits at the cost of fuel from the supers jump fuel bay. Also has the added bonus of acting like a pos gun's control so that the super can have it's "parking break"

If the pos goes offline, "it" remains online until the last super undocks in that it really only needs the pos to be on for the first docking.

The docking port would also have a small fuel bay that docked supers could access for emergencies when they had to log off fast and needed to top off their tanks to stay safe. Any ship could refill the fuel bay but only supers can take it from it.

If the docking port blows up, it drops it's fuel but doing this is hard to do because they are sturdy and cheap to build making the docked ships better targets. If nothing is docked to or shielding it though they are as flimsy as a large offline pos control tower.

Allot would change with the ability to target and try to destroy enemy ship yards but I think it would be the best for the future of EVE and bring back real meaning to owning a super capital.

EDIT: Haaaaa... so much rage but fairly so - When a dog has a bone, you don't try to take it away from them, you give them another... So through this into the mix, these restrictions with the addition to the old Area-Of-Effect titan doomsdays of old

I for one, am glad that EVE University, renowned PvP training center, and home of several famous, undefeated and notable FC's would grace us with their knowledge of Super Capitals, Cap Warfare, and new and interesting propositions to bring balance to the world of these space faring vessels.

OOO, PL is mmmaaaadd about this one :P
Probably cos none of them have touched a subcap in years.

Personally i like the idea.
Frankly supers just dont die anywhere near often enough and are way too easy to keep safe.
This would put actual risk into owning a super.

There is no Bob.

No

Terrible idea and so much out of balance. The supercaps have alot of restrictions already and your terrible idea would make then huge targets and waste of isks to everyone who has ever trained for them. Their vallue would drop, no one would want to make them anymore and the chars would also be pretty useless cause the training of an char for a super cap is pretty specific.

So no. Your idea has just negative effects to the game no positive ones.

And if this is just a cry to get on killmails or supercap kills then your doing it wrong so wrong. And if this makes no sense to you then use the biomass cause theres realy no point even to talk to you cause your just not getting it.

Then the CCP dev is an idiot and he should biomass him self also. Though I bet the devs idea had much more to it than this if there has been one.

After centuries of debating and justifying... Break Cloaks tm

Yah don't care about killmails... I rarely fly ships with guns and much prefer harassment tactics /logistics

I know your right in that this isn't thought out enough but I think of super caps as Alliance assets regardless if one person flys them or not and feel they should stay on the field for the alliance or be protected by it as an individual. The battle potential of the titan completely disappears when a player logs off and the alliance loses it entirely.

So as an alliance asset they could be used and lost regardless of the pilot being there.

They have also seen massive dwarfism in their capabilities and I feel have already been shove half way out the door in comparison to all they were able to do before. With this in place you wouldn't have to keep doing this to them because the Titan's and moms stronger capabilities would be balanced by it's new vulnerability. A vulnerability that doesn't make you go "pop" when exploited but keeps you on your toes, they is still the poss shields and a titan with minimal 80% omni resist super to bring down, hell make it 95% and 80% if it isn't docked and offline.

It's a bit radical but I'm thinking it could have allot of positive outcomes for the game as a whole in terms of incentives and the new tactics that would form in nullsec.

Sooooo, inside of a month, when there is not one single super left in the game, what next? Do you remove capitals ability to dock and log off too? Then BS, BC etc?
