Two Words; TOUCH SCREEN

Like I said, two words; "Touch Screen"

...no really. With the technology advancing in that direction as it is, I would love to see support for touchscreen PCs and Laptops(like for instance Dell's XPS18) . The Point-Click nature of the UI lends itself very well to Touchscreen compatibility and I would love to lose a couple hours playing EVE while, for instance, on a bike or treadmill at the gym P, or even relaxed lazily on the couch instead at my computer desk Pirate.

Please, CCP! Big smile

While I support the idea, I would also like to point out you don't need a touchscreen to play lying down. I play from bed on my dual monitor desktop. The trick is just to get a desk that's slightly taller than your bed.

If Chribba told you not to trust him, would you?

Yeah, but a touchscreen can go with you around the room...or wherever else that the desire to play might strike me Smile

I have played eve on Touchscreen on both, my 7 year old Asus convertible and now on the MS surface pro, so provided you have a Stylus (eve's small menus and dependance on right clicks make it a bit tough to play with just the fingers, epecially if you have large Hands), eves touchscreen support is just fine - so what do you mean exactly? Gesture Support?

Get ahold of the Kinect SDK and you could probably implement something like that yourself, if you had the foggiest idea what you were doing. Lol

I wasn't aware there was already support in the game(hence a suggestion to develop it).

Right-click dependency can probably be over come with press-and-hold(I know that's already how many phones handle things you WOULD right click on).

Interesting to know that support like this slipped past me like an overly experienced Curse pilot...for whom I wasn't looking.

Enough said, already works although could use quite a bit of tweaking and some time to get use to in order for it to be effective.

Well - It's not specifically supported- It's just supported as any program treats touch/stylus input as e.g. mouse input.
Having that said I wouldn't really recommend it - it's ok for checking market orders when travelling etc..., but for flying around in space I wouldn't really call it a viable option - maybe hauling, mining or some PVE stuff, but you really don't want to go on a PVP roam using a Tablet.
Press and hold is way too slow - hence I mentioned the stylus - at least you have a button to tap and right-click quickly.

And as I said - on small, high res Displays, I think it's impossible to just use Fingers I even if you have small Hands (l have really huge Hands, so I don't even need to try - my Index fingers tip covers about 5 overview entries on the surface pro).

ahhhh....that makes sense.

In that case, CCP, let's amend that suggestion to "real" touchscreen support (for instance: Pinch/spread zooming). I would have so much fun with this!
