5/10 & 4/10 Low Sec PVE Ship Alternatives wanted.

Hello,

MY alt currently runs DED sites in a passive recharge Gila, Sentry Fit with 5 Heavy for final overseer take down. Things are going OK but not as good as the days before the drone nerf due to API agro. I can finish a 5/10 ded in about 3/4hr, zero warp outs.

I'm looking for an alternative ship for running Serp & Angel 5 /10's but also 4/10's so I'm ruling T3's out due to the new gate lock out. So far I've got my options to Ishtar & Gila but would like to move away from drones to a less concentration intensive ship.

I'm edging away from a battleship option so as not to get scanned down. Can a Thorax or vigilant solo said sites effectively?

MY Budget is around 400m for ship & fittings.

I've never found a plex in low-sec that I couldn't run with an Ishtar.

If you're going to use pairs of ships, a pair of tengus or a combination of a loki with a naga, megathron or a loki with a drone ship like a dominix all work just fine. In my book, though, (and I should qualify this by saying that I lack extensive experience plexing with off-the-beaten-track configurations, the ishtar is really the easy-mode if you only run them incidentally and you must run them with one ship.

Yeah I do this but it's not the same as the days where I could park my sentry & orbit them at 1000m go have a shower and the first room would be done. Slow boat to second room drop sentry go make supper and room would be done. Third room blap the web tower then the oversee'r slow boat to him scoop & dock.

Get a slep out an active tank on it like fit out a med shield booster perhaps c type. Fit arties or autos to taste. Its a little outside of your price range but totally worth it.

Thorax and vigilant only do good dps when fitted with blasters, and medium blasters are hopeless at ded 5s (can't deal with the web trap), and they both have a considerable proportion of their dps in medium drones anyway, and making either tank angels to ded 5 levels will not be cheap.

how does an active tank Gila look like stat-wise?

How do you cope with the last room of the ded5? Seems a bit tricky to me :/

on a side note: my gila got ganked in a serp 5/10 this week by 2 tengus. What lockout are you referring to?
