I've had the personal pleasure of witnessing an EVE University fleet 300 strong. A large amount of Frigate sized vessels, with the majority fielding Cruisers. However, Destroyers, Battleships and Battlecruisers and specialized Attack Battlecruisers made showings, along with a small Logistics contingent and a support fleet of no less than 20 Blackbirds.

I hung some 300KM out in my Crusader class Interceptor observing their movements. Occasionally I would drift closer for a better view, but the E-UNI fleet were keen to fire warning shots if I strayed too close.

Their opponents were fielding a much less lofty fleet; two Rifters, a Rupture and an Oracle to be precise if I recall correctly. 4 versus 300.

After the smoke cleared the EVE University fleet had lost several Ruptures and a mixture of some dozen Frigates. The pirate fleet suffered precisely 0 losses and during the skirmishing (which lasted over an hour) the E-UNI Fleet Commanders showed extreme cowardice, eventually becoming 'camped' into a single station by the pitifully small red fleet.

Needless to say, I have an extremely low amount of confidence in E-UNI for it's ability to teach it's students combat preparedness against other Capsuleer combatants.

I believe you, yet it boggles my mind how this might be possible.

That said, I have one solo engagement under my belt and that was against an E-UNI student. They won. I suppose I am in no position to judge.

I have been victorious in one-on-one combat with Unistas. I have also lost a ship to a student. Though it is not my intention to undermine any individual member of the University. It is their FCs and leadership that strike me as troublesome.

An interest in politics yet an adversity to conflict? Not quite sure how that's going to work out in the long run, but warmest welcome.

I can't offer any guidance in regards to politics, I work hard in fact to avoid the goings-on in Empire rather than immerse myself. Solitude has it's virtues, sometimes. But regards the current topic, if E-UNI doesn't sound like your thing then why not ask your superiors to sponsor some training with the fine pilots at Agony Unleashed? From first hand experience I can recommend their training, you'll learn a lot as well as have a fantastic time doing so.

It may not help you win this war, but you might find yourself actually looking forward to the next one!

Good luck, fly safe, and don't let the politic'n corrupt you, ahh.

To clarify, I have no adversity to conflict. I'm merely not prepared for it. I have been cooped up in station for the last 24 hours!

Well well greetings to you Caldun. I am not sure how things are in the Amarr regions, but in the Federation, just watch the news for a day. That will give you enough taste of politics.

In terms of corporations, I highly suggest Eve University. I myself am a student and recently flew into the voids of space as a capsuleer. The knowledge gained from the university will help greatly in the long run. Knowledge is a powerful tool.

Forgive me Captain Caldun, but your pilot's license seems to be all of eleven days old and you're already in your second corporation.

Might I suggest taking a breather?

Build up your core skills. Try your hand at a number of things. Make some friends. Make a small nest egg for yourself.

Then after researching the corporation and making sure it's a good fit join a capsuleer owned corp.

This is especially true for an opponent that not only refuses to accept evidence, refuses to listen to first hand testimony and has the nerve to demand that you submit evidence to prove your point, offering none in return regardless of how they're pressed.
