Hello,

I watched, and repeatedly, that some players have changed the price of the same object on several stations (stations 20-40) in a few (16-20) intervals of seconds.

To get an idea here for example two items and their regions:
Note: Filter 'Expires In'

1. Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I Region: The Citadel Market
2. 'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher Region: Lonetrek Market

What is the technique used is?
A bot software! An idea of the one used? Is this legal?
I would like also to do so.

Thanking you in advance,

Daytrading IV + wh shortcut, assuming it's not just two different traders.

Edit: or bot, of course

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Yes, same trader.

Unfortunately, I see more and more on the way to make other items. Suppose it is not easy to know the reason for such a player to race change the price in a region.

Are you sure it's the same market order from the same trader?

I have put up the same item with multiple orders before just to be able to win the .01 game.

I'm sure others have thought/done this as well. Roll

Sorry, misunderstood the question, actually it's a different player for each market.

Multiboxing software, which is not against the EULA last I heard.

Basically mimics the movement and clicking of 1 window across many.

Originally this whole multiboxing thing started towards the end of the Incursion Expansion.

How do you know it is the same player on all stations?

Smile Easy, just buy an item from a station at random.

If it was multiboxing it would show up as different traders.

Market cache scraping and cache injecting. Basically a program that scraps your market data cache and injects the values into another client cache so all you need to do is double click your order you wish to modify and the new price will automatically be injected into the price window.

It requires a bit of work to do (and running a local web server/database, etc.) but it is how it is done, and is what caused the big stir a few months ago about all the discussion on banning cache scrapping.

Big thank you, what you mention is exactly like what I've seen here.
Remains to be seen whether this approach will remain.

CCP still allows cache scraping (otherwise things like eve-central, evemon, etc. would stop functioning) but injecting data into caches is against the TOS. A few months back a player who was quitting gave a large donation to Eve Uni (like 125B) which was removed by CCP a few days later when it was determined the fellow who donated the isk was using this process. So CCP does watch for this, its just unknown how watchful and what degree of abuse people are able to get away with.

The guy in question was using eve mentat in conjunction with various spreads. Eve mentat (could at the time not sure about it now) copy/paste an order price into your eve market window. You just had to set a filter eg .-0.01 isk of lowest and it would scrape the cache and autofill the value into mentat then copy to eve.
The cache scraping wasn`t so much the problem, it was the automated price changing.
If you don`t adjust your ingame prices manually it will rightfully appear that you are botting, and rightfully get you banned

Yeah, I looked at this method a while ago. Pity it isn't legal. I don't want my account banned eventually.

The solution is to be more selective about you items (unless you want RSI). Spreadsheets in space...
