Collapsing a bubble mid-warp--module or specialized role?

Imagine a specialized ship (like a new t2 destroyer) that can pull itself, and anyone else within the same warp bubble (such as a fleet warp).

That, or if that's too overpowered, a module on a ship that can pull itself out of the bubble, mid-warp.

Why?

Because it's interesting, that's why.

As a module, some scouting ships, or haulers, could fit them and stop warp before landing on a bubble that was once out of d-scan range. Still requires that people pay attention, and a low slot being taken up is a nice tradeoff.

There's a lot of wasted time in waiting for people who accidentally warped to the wrong place. Less wasted time = more battles = more kills. That, or mid-warp: "Such at such at this gate," perhaps some people can drop-out and rush to tackle it.

Also, making safe bookmarks would be obsolete in many cases. Thank various deities. It's cumbersome, not new-player friendly, and requires way too many clicks and precision timing to not be humping a celestial.

Other reasons that are obvious.

You know its a good idea.

The new radial menu has removed almost all of the unwieldy nature from creating bookmarks.

Also, obsoleting bookmark creation by making it pointless doesn't strike me as the good idea you seem to think it is.

Wait... what? I'm at work right now, so I can't exactly log in to see what all is on the radial menu...
I've almost always used the right-click context menu and keyboard hotkeys (and have most of what I need burned into muscle memory), so I've barely spared a glance at the radial menu, so please forgive this question, but what does the radial menu do to ease up bookmarking?

Talk is cheap, but Void S and Quake L are cheaper.

If it's a module for abandoning warp, there are obvious penalties involved, such as using up a low slot, and perhaps even some penalties (signature radius comes to mind),. To assume that safe bookmarks will be obsolete is assuming everyone will fit a particular module, which has a particular purpose. That's... unlikely to happen. This would probably be something fitted to covert-ops pilots, ceptors, or small gang PvPers looking for an interesting tactical edge.

I've always wondered what the real issue is with dropping out of warp?

You can create the bookmark. You can warp to other area's mid-space. But you can't stop? Why?

And to be honest, I've always been buggered by why interdictors can't pull ships out mid warp. Setting up a camp mid-system seems a lot more interesting to me.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

I've always liked this idea. You could make a ship's maximum warp speed determine how likely (if at all) it would be pulled out of warp by a bubble. Interceptors, at their crazy fast warp speeds, would pass through bubbles without noticing them. Freighters would almost always be pulled out. In fact, if you made it so if one ship in the warp "tunnel" gets pulled out, all other ships in the "tunnel" with it get pulled out. It'd make having an escort that's in the same warp tunnel as you mean something.

The warp drive needs a target to lock onto, all space in the game that is not a station, gate, planet, moon belt, sig, wh etc etc is uncharted , there is nothing there, putting a bookmark there gives the space a valid coordinate.

If you were able to just warp anywhere and stop anywhere, you may as well just remove combat scanners and add coordinates and a warp to coordinate button.

Never saw anything wrong with this, either.

Let me warp directly, or even make a bookmark, to a coordinate if I can type the coordinate in.

Your warp drive cannot lock on to unknown space?

Sitting in an off grid safe selectively bubbling passing ships sounds very cowardly and risk averse.

In fact this suggestion does little more than aid running away and reducing confrontation.

Currently to create a bookmark in a system you need to warp between known objects and bookmark somewhere on the path. At least this mechanic still gives hostiles a (small) chance of trapping you before you safe up.

Additionally while trying to probe you out they're forcing you to create more bookmarks to stay safe, eventually you'll bounce to a known celestial in order to create new safes giving them the opportunity to catch you again.

Well the amount of times I see muppets with disco typhoons at gates, would love something like this :)

Instead of having to fly through all my common systems, set up bookmarks off grid from gates, blah blah....

Cool idea.

You want to waste a fitting slot on a module that fixes your own inability to click the right button?

Yes actually it does sound awesome, you can still escap them by going around anyways, but you would land where no one would be able to jump in..... sounds funs!
