Mission Rebalancing

I really think the exploration really helped out, but missions also need re-balancing.

I think it would be interesting if a mini-game were tied into every mission, for instance the mission would have you retrieve some Quafe, but the Quafe is locate within a Maze for safe keeping, you could launch a Maze Probe and have it fly through the Maze and retrieve the Quafe

This would be in lieu of missions that have you "Blow up that structure and loot the can"

Additionally rather than missions like World's Collide where you loot the crew you could have a mini-game with a timer on it, and during that timer you have to keep the ship from exploding while the crew evacuates to your cargo hold.

The whole experience would be rounded off by a reward can that would vomit your loyalty points across space in the hemisphere of the mission runner.

Thank You Obama!

Posting in a stealth "exploration nerfed...boo hoo" whine thread. Twisted

On that note, thanks CCP, you got me actually interested in exploration, and added a few skills to my queue. Thanks for introducing me to something new Big smile

Since people love the mechanic so much, it should be added to the one place it makes some sense: Ship destruction. Leave the fitted modules in the wreck like normal, but all carried cargo stacks should spew out in different directions in generically named containers and then quickly disappear from the overview if not immediately looted by someone.

There's already a maze, it's called The Maze. It's a 10/10 in nullsec. Start probing.

As a Gallente Drone Boat pilot, I am pleased to inform you that I vomit my drones out every time I engage an enemy. They seem to appear in random directions.

And if you fail the minigame you fail the mission?

Certain Missions yes. You could always launch another Maze probe to get the Quafe.

But if you accidentally murder the crew you were supposed to evacuate because you failed to keep life support online, you should fail.

Or would we have puzzled space pirates? I think you, good sir, have stumbled upon a conundrum.

Your mission if you choose to accept it. Hack the control tower and solve the rubics cube inside. All while fighting off hoards of pirates and drones. Analyze and configure the solar array powering the super canon pointed at pirate station by inserting rubics cube into circular mount. You have 10 minutes to complete the mission. Good Luck!

I think static floating wrecks should be removed and be replaced with scatter mechanics. So if you don't have a salvager co-op or salvage drones, you will lose most if not all of the loot and salvage.

You'd have to combine the salvagers and tractor beams so you can reel in one scatter object per active, let's call it, salvage tackle. Marauders and the Noctis will get bonuses on range. Salvage drones set to engage will collect the closest scatter can, with enhanced AI so any drone will not target a can that is already targeted by another drone.
