L4 missile ship?

in 2 days I'll have missile launcher Operation 5
got all support missile skills (beside the ones requires Missile launcher operation V of on rank 3\4).
light and heavy missiles on rank 3.

now I'm thinking about which ship I'll want to use on L4 missions, I can go cruise missiles and thought about maybe raven\scorpion navy issue but they are way too much expensive.
on the other hand I heard tenagu is a lot of fun and can be adjusted for variety of roles as well.

when I started my missile adventures I thought about the rattlesnake with average price of 530mil for the hull it's not that bad and the fact I got lots of drone skills I could get sentry and t2 drones in decent amount of time but then I read that rattlesnake takes too much time to clear L4 solo and normal raven outperform it? is it possible?

I got an option to get Standard raven battleship from my corp' member for 155 mil, will it work?

thanks!

tengu is more expensive than the battleships and dont do the job as well.

rattlesnake is primarily a drone boat and it clears level 4s in competitive time compared to all the other common mission boats (mach, vargur, paladin, CNR etc)

entry level battleship for missions would be a raven and since the cruise buff it's more than enough if you have the skills to fly it half-decently.

Take the raven from that corpmate, it's a good deal in the long run with rising battleship mineral worth being already over 155M.

This, well skilled Raven can put out around 900dps to any range with a solid tank and solid damage application, with 7 mids you have the option of running a heavy tank until you get used to the sites.

After the oddessy changes if you can fly Minmatar and if you've got decent drone skills then get a Typhoon .. unlike a raven it can carry and deploy sentry drones....

raven is perfectly capable of carrying and deploying sentry drones also.

just FYI, the only reason to take the navy scorp over the regular raven is if your shield tanking skills suck. if you have a decent skill set, you can easily put enough tank on a regular raven and the dps of both ships is the same.

if you are sick of juggling painters, you can upgrade to the navy raven and profit from the sxplosion radius bonus (the paper dps is the same on all three ships).

I should buy an Ishtar.

I'd suggest the Raven, if only because it's easier to replace than a navy battleship or a strategic cruiser if something goes sideways and you die in a fire (always a worry when starting out with L4's). And I'd jump at that 155M offer.

The Typhoon's been touted as a viable alternative; it shares the Raven's rate-of-fire bonus, although keyed to the Minmatar battleship skill instead of the Caldari, and it gets an explosion-velocity bonus (essentially the equivalent of a free Flare rig), but it doesn't have the range bonus of the Raven. It's supposed to be a fast ship to make up for that, although it's got an armor-tank slot pattern instead of a shield-tank setup, which may offset that.

typhoon, i use it for L4 and finish it easily. you can add 4 sentry for more dps there

raven can only deploy 2 sentry
