Your opinion about attack BCs in the current meta?

Hi,

attack BCs were known as nice kiters for 1 vs. many PvP - especially the Talos (see Kil2 videos). But the current meta of the game has changed:

- attack BCs are a bit slower
- TEs were nerfed a bit

and most important:

- (even tanky) cruisers are alot faster now

What's your opinion about the current role of attack BCs in solo/very small gang PvP? I think they are much more vulnerable to get caught imo. This shifts their role more into long and medium range sniping. But I don't have much experience flying them.

Thanks for any insight.

not that much has changed. theyve always been vulnerable and very position-sensitive ships. its become slightly more extreme but not really game changing afaik. the others (than talos) were always longer range ships anyway

The decline in usage started before the nerf. I think part of it is just people realizing when they're good vs when they're not. In FW, the only tier 3s usually saw were Oracles and arty-nados trying to blap frigates on gates, and it didn't take people too long to realize that this wasn't particularly effective.

Furthermore, I don't have a lot of personal experience with Talos, but I was under the impression that their primary claim to fame with regards to solo "1 vs many" PVP involved 100mn fits that required links and pirate implants to get acceptable agility..In which case you aren't going to see a lot of them around just due to the barrier to entry.

They still obsolete more ships than any other ship group in the game

Need to be slower.

they're supposed to be glass cannons

not really fast glass cannons cause that's where the OP comes from.

My talos does around 1300 DPS with around 50k 40k buffer.
I rather keep my battleships in station because the talos dps is enough and its by far more agile / faster then one of my megathrons (let´s talk about 'abc making other shipclasses obsolete).

EDIT:
It´s more like 40k buffer, sorry for that.

If the class obsoletes more ships than it contains then that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I still believe that the (when introduced) Tier 3 BCs should have been battleships with a secondary EWar bonus as the Tornado was initially designed. The glass cannon paradigm is one which is always going to be very difficult in EVE because the potential numbers are just so high.
