I loved this as a kid. The more I remember about it, the more I think "EVE"

Lol.

Well, I guess if the question was:

Did I wake and bake this morning and over-do it? Then the answer would be, yes!

No, Netrek was first. Online multiplayer space game, was one of the reasons I installed Linux 15 years ago ...

I remember almost nothing about it now, but I used to love Trade Wars. But I'm old enough to have operated an Opus BBS (with 2 lines!!!) before.

Yeah. I ran a FIDONet BBS back in the day. Ran Trade Wars. Loved it. BBSs were a great medium. I was a FIDONet NC, file and Echomail hub for a while as we'll. Amazing what could be done with 16bits at 1200 baud.

I recently saw a thing that said FIDONet's still kicking around. Especially in places where more modern internet is heavily censored, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if there were a few people still running some FIDONet systems for lols.

I still remember when the first BBS operator in town got a 9600 baud modem. We all went over to his house to gaze at in wonder.. mostly we wondered who else in town would buy a 9600 baud modem to connect to it :). But like all tech, soon we all had them.

Outpost by Sierra was my first space related game.

Then came X-Com and Utopia Creation of a nation. Sorry if the link don't work. Im using one of the upgraded obsolete smart ass phones. If you haven't played Outpost give it a look. Took me forever to learn how to survive.

I actually played a little TW2002 shortly before reactivating my account a few weeks ago. Fun times, but it just made me want to play Eve again.
