EVE New Citizens Q&A

I don't want to join a different corp. <3 AirHogs, however I would like to get into the roleplay scene in EVE. Are there any particular forums or other web based communities that I can head over to and start reading through? I would like a community that already has some community. Currently I have no character built so it would take me a bit of time to get into the roleplaying itself but I think it would be easier to do so with something to scan through and build myself into.

I've DMed 3 DnD campaigns and ran several characters past paragon, I have a fair amount of roleplay experience - I won't drag down your community if you choose to introduce me to it.

Most RP communities exist within their corps I guess, although I'm sure you could find something.

A good open channel to reach other roleplayers is The Summit. You'll come across lots of RP'ers there, most of the discussion is political though (which doesn't interest Erica particularly). Make some friends and contacts and go from there!

I appreciate the feedback so far, the problem is I have no character and can't start RPing until I am confident with who I want to be and what my character is going to be.

If anyone knows any story driven RP I would like to know about those.

P.S. Watching The Summit is making my stomach churn.

From the looks of your bio you already have a simple intro to your character's past, you also have your racial description to aid you a little and plenty of back-story material can be found in the Gallactic Summit forum. Forge the rest of your story as you go maybe? Eve can provide a basic framework but you'll need to use your imagination and personal preferences to fill in the rest


Welcome to roleplay in EVE, something almost nobody does and that many look down upon in this game of glittery space graphics. Those who do RP tend to do so heavily based on factional politics and current events as you likely saw in the summit.

If that's the kind of indepth basis you want for your character then lurk that channel some more, get reading about eve-lore and also take advantage of the resources in the intergalactic summit stickies, etc.

Personally I've little interest in either, nor the time and inclination to research or keep up with it, which is partly why my character adores living in a wormhole, she can forget all that boring stuff and just be herself. I prefer to keep it generic and general, which tends to isolate RP'ers like me even further within an already isolated community.

Find and create your own path however which way you like!

Just hijacking the OP's thread a little. Whatever happened to the Reclaimer RP story that ran a few years ago. It really fanned the fires of the Amarr/Minmatar conflict.

I remember there was a big event where we (The Amarr) had to shift a shed load of documents, aimed at proving, or disproving our (god) given right to enslave everybody. But then it sort of 'fizzled out'.

Was it ever resolved, or just left hanging? If it was the latter, it's a big shame as it was an excellent framework for RPer's to build on and even provided a lot of pew-pew action for PvPers who were not realy into RP but wanted a good fight.

I'm not much of an RPer myself but I do like reading on EVE's fiction.
