Overview Replacement?

I recently read an article about CCP potentially finding a more ergonomic and/or attractive option for the overview. I personally do not support this, but out of curiosity, what are some potential rethinks of the overview? I'm having trouble thinking of anything that could deliver more simple functionality while being more attractive. What are your ideas?

Tabs you can undock as separate windows would probably make us **** rainbows and sacrifice newborns to whichever dev would take credit for making it possible.
