In and of itself this wouldn't cause any problem for anybody, but realistically, if CCP enabled this then it would take about 4 picoseconds for people to start demanding reimbursement for removed skills.

Perhaps its best that your OCD receives a few challenges instead Blink

I am glad a CSM member realizes that someone wanting to remove a unwanted skill for no reimbursement would not hurt anyone.

But I don't see why you would put the statement about people would start demanding from CCP reimbursements for removed skills. There is a warning box that would pop up saying if you removed this skill then you do it at your own risk & CCP cannot be held responsible.

Just like with jumping into lowsec, a warning pops up. If a player still jumps into lowsec, can he then petition CCP to have his shipped replace for being popped? NO

If CCP insures the warning is clearly worded that if you remove this skill, YOU WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED. Then no one can start demanding anything. Of course, there will always be whiners & complainers about everything in this game.

I agree with the OP and give my reasons thus.

You buy a character and as with many things, it is not 100% perfect with YOUR requirements. Answer: Remap the skills
If there is any "HELL NO" replies to that then why do we have the sale of characters?

Another reason: You develop a multi-toon strategy (as you really CANNOT play this game without multiple toons). Your strategy changes and evolves with time and you switch skills - some skills become obsolete for that toon and it would be ideal to re-map.
This is the main reason I agree with this thread, I have a pvp main that has several useless industrial skills that I would love to re-map.

So its a big +1 from me

Pretty much what Mag's said.

Also, realize when you buy a character, it is not as if its skillpoints appear out of thin air. That character had to take the time to train and develop its skillset, just like any other character in this game.

All character take the same potential time to train each and every skill in this game, which includes the growing pains. We all realize the kids at the kiddie table want to instantly grow up and play adult games, but do you really think this is good for EvE?

I wouldn't mind that I probably wouldn't even use all of it, I would just shave a few none combat or non pvp skills off my other accounts character. TBH if I could shave off skills of my choice for no returned skillpoints I would do that too.

Things change, tough. This isn't a trade union, just because you've been here longer doesn't make you special...

Everyone is always repeating the mantra "Don't Trust Anyone" ad nauseum... If I can't trust the guys I play with, why bother playing with them at all? Fly Solo...
